GoNintendo wrote:The first in-depth reveal trailer for the Bowser's Fury mode in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury revealed that Bowser Jr. is joining Mario for the adventure. Bowser Jr. can help you out by fighting off some enemies and dropping in power-ups for you. A second player can also jump in and take control of Bowser Jr.

If you're someone who doesn't like help when you're playing a game, you'll be happy to know that you can adjust Bowser Jr.'s settings. There are various levels of support to choose from, which will have Bowser Jr. hanging at your side most of the time, or barely offering up any help.

Ah! So... there's a Funky Mode? :toot: . I like this idea :) .

Around what you might expect. Do you think there's a chance they'll sell it on the eShop separately? I have no desire to play 3D World again but wouldn't mind paying £15 to just play Bower's Fury.

Probably not. I'm not sure Nintendo have ever done something like that before?

I'm not sure what you call it but that shiny rendering that makes the characters look a bit like plastic toys (similar to the Links Awakening remake character design), looks fine for the main 3D World game but does look a bit out of place in the more open world Bowsers Furry

Calamity Bowser  I've always wanted an open world 3D Mario game that's completely seamless instead of just a bunch of large sandboxes. This is one miiighty step closer to that.

And yes, that cat is definitely Daisy

Glossy shading? Elsewise not sure if there's a proper name for it and Google is just saying cel shaded which doesn't seem right. Think the problem with that style for Bowser's Fury is the lighting effects. The most jarring bit of gameplay I've seen so far was in the trailer when Mario was running through the rain at night, it clashes too much

Ordered it online for £35 from eBay as they had a 15% off and I had a 5 nectar voucher, so it's not a bad price and it does come with the steelbook to boot.

I wasn't that keen on the title on Wii U, but I'm gonna give it another go and that Bowser's Fury does look real fun. I wonder if that's a tech demo for a future game.

Mario Odyssey should be the only tech demo for any future game IMHO.

I'd love another Odyssey ( ), but I'm also really interested to see what Bowser's Fury offers and I'm not against them exploring new directions with 3D Mario. They've always been quite prepared to shake things up with the big M and it has almost always resulted in fantastic outcomes

By all means they should explore new directions! The one that the SM3D sub-series explored isn’t new. Or good. :P

You kidding? New no but good yes. It seemed like a good evolution of the 2D formula with some great levels.

That said, I'd love them to go in new directions. I'd love more story elements. Odyssey was a step in the right direction as is Bowsers Fury with its openness and Calamity Bowser. Unfortunately one of my biggest hopes is a new art direction and that isn't going to happen.

I think the art direction in the 3D games is fine.

It is the 2D games that desperately need a new art style.

Yeah it's mainly the 2D games (which somewhat encompasses the base 3D World game as that's like a 2D game) . Could you imagine them going in as bold a direction as the new Rayman games' artstyle? Even Yoshi games have been playing it safe with their style lately (crafted is same aesthetic as wooly which dates back to the Wii)

Unfortunately with the new movie, themepark and Miyamoto's aversion to risk taking, seems like the Mario style will only get even more streamlined and saturated.

A little bit. I do think SM3DW was good, great even - but I also think they’re the worst two 3D Marios.
