Yeah, but you know they would have tied that to the already available amiibo functionality, so if you don't have a Bowser - screw you.

On World 8 now.

On the Wii U I played through the whole game in 4 player and while the single player playthrough I'm doing at the moment doesn't work quite as well, it is still an absolute gem of a Mario game. Just constantly throwing new ideas at you. Great to pick up and play a few levels when you have a spare 20 minutes too.

I know this got a fair amount of criticism at the time because it wasn't the post Galaxy, HD Mario people wanted but i think it is a great companion next to Odyessy on Switch.

Oh god, I remember Neogaf when this game was announced for Wii U. Because it wasn't Galaxy 3 or a fully fledged 64/Sunshine experience, people were shitting on it. The place completely 180'd on it when the reviews started coming in.

Bowser’s Fury is really good, Fury Bowser himself is already feeling like a nuisance though, I like the idea that you have to ‘defeat’ him to unlock more of the map though.

Edit, although Bowser Fury has to be relatively common when there’s so many of the blocks that only his fire can destroy or you’d be waiting longer than you’d like to collect those and move on.

Bowser's Fury is really great. The only thing I can really mark it down on is that it probably should have used the Odyssey controls. It's no big deal really, I can't complain too much, but it feels weird using 3D World controls in a fully 3D environment.

Nearing 50 shine sprites in Bowser’s Fury now, been getting all the sprites so far on the islands plus most of the others I’ve found in the wild so far. Once I’ve finished with this (both main game plus BF) I’ll be trying Sunshine again, I fear that going back to Sunshine from this will be rather hard and considering I was already getting infuriated with some levels I might just get straight into Galaxy.

Its an absolute blast but also deeply maddening.

The online has mostly been decent but we have had a few disconnects.

Local multiplayer on this with the family has been brutal!

Deep seated divisions between siblings are being established that will no doubt result in these betrayals getting recited at Christmas gatherings for the next 30 years! :slol:

Up to 62 Sprites on BF now, was fighting Bowser again but then my Switch was about to run out of power (so now on charge midway through) but he was taking a really long time to defeat compared to early on in the game, take it this is normal towards the end of the ‘story’?

Yeah, he gets tougher as the game goes on

Once you’ve finished it does he revert to his easier state? He can get lost if he’ll take longer to beat (I’ll just run around avoiding his attacks) if I can be bothered to go for 100%
