Yeah, he gets tougher as the game goes on

Once you’ve finished it does he revert to his easier state? He can get lost if he’ll take longer to beat (I’ll just run around avoiding his attacks) if I can be bothered to go for 100%

I'm not sure I fought him again after finishing it. I just kept getting shines to send him away.

Ah fair enough, Bowser Jr said something about getting him back to his weakened state (or words to that effect anyway), like yourself I doubt I’ll face him once the final
fight is done.

No. Once it goes to the longer version, it stays as the longer version, so don't go and fight him again until you've got all the sprites.

Dam, was hoping he’d revert to the shorter version considering how often he rocks up

Well at least there’s something for getting 100% then.

Seen the credits for Bowser’s Fury with 61 sprites collected, will definitely be going back on it ASAP to see what other areas have now opened up.

I hadn’t played Super Mario 3D World since it’s Wii U release, I couldn’t remember most of the levels and fell in love with it all over again. I’m just on Champions Road and have spent since Sunday played it non stop until today. I’m up to the part with the speedy floor and collecting the keys but after 800 lives or so I might call it a day...

Bowsers Fury - I’m not feeling it all, the islands seem uninspired, same star tasks per island and Bowsers cycle is boring. But I must admit he looks cool and strawberry floating boss I just wish he’d do something different.

Probably sacrilege, but I enjoyed this game more than Odyssey.

To be honest I’d definitely say it’s on par with it, both immense fun but just a little different.

Never got back on this today, too busy playing Valhalla.

Played Bowsers Fury yesterday. Ohhhhh my  Soooooo good. Already seen the credits though. Think the way Bowser gets involved is very clever. Sometimes I think he even helps as some of the blocks create new paths. Also seemed to trigger at moments rather then on a timer to me. Post credits it seems to be more of a timer and I can see that being a bit tiresome by the end. Looks absolutely epic! Kind of wish Mario moved a bit more like Odyssey given how large some of it is. The camera during the Bowzilla fights is a little slow and its a shame there are some performance issues. Most of the time its great but a few moments it feels really stodgy.

Sod Mario Kart and F-Zero we need Super Plessie Racers

Now that I've started 3D World, I can completely understand Pedz's video. I have died in such ridiculous ways in this. The jump switch level killed me 4 times. I'm terrible at this game now.

Still great though. I played until World 7 today.

Same here, for some reason I'm constantly off in where I think the character is compared to his real location. Jumping sideways off simple platforms, overshooting the most basic jumps.

I'm completely misjudging everything. It's the speed increase. I can't get used to it.

I never played the original so don't mind the speed, it's akin to Odyssey I think and I like it.

But there is something weird with the isometric camera - and maybe other things? the shadows? other stuff? - that means I too sometimes misjudge jumps and angles in a way I've never had a problem with in a Mario.

Still, enjoying the bite-sized levels that feel like quick treats, and coupled with Bowser's Fury I think it's a brilliant package that scratches both Mario itches.

I would say that the levels have never really got that tricksy yet, nor exploited all these fun new mechanics with the full rigour and ingenious ingenuity I expect of Nintendo (I'm on World 8). But I'm hoping for some of that in the end game or whatever...

I’ve not gone back to this since plying Bowser’s Fury (ended on just over 80 sprites). Should do as I’m hoping to complete Champions Road in this version!
