Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury | Nintendo Switch | Launches 12/02/21

I don’t think it’s anywhere near my favourite of the 3D games (still both Galaxy games and Odyssey in the top 3 slots for me), probably middle of the pack but it is fantastic.

Anyhow, just started Bowser’s Fury, what does Bowser Jr do? I’ve left him on the default of ‘help a little’ but I’ve no idea what he actually does to know if I should utilities him or not?

He attacks enemies and shows hidden items released via pounding a la Odyssey.

I thought it was fun to have him on A Little also, enough to feel like a double team and to have the odd moments of 'phew! Thanks!' but not enough intervention to feel your achievements aren't yours. I liked it!

(Though I didn't try other settings...)

Thanks, only got chance to play about 30 minutes of Bowser’s Fury this evening but it seemed decent so from the opening, although Fury Bowser has already reared his head a fair few times despite my lowly playtime! I’m going to keep Bowser Jr on the ‘help a little’ setting too, neat to have a sidekick.

But yeah, Champions Road just seems to ramp it up from what I remember! I played/am playing it all through as Luigi again but I I still can’t do Champions Road I’m going to switch to Rosalina for hopefully a slightly easier run! As much as I love the game I’m not going to clear it with all 5 characters so it’s more just for the satisfaction rather than 10.% completion.

It’s a massive step up in difficulty from all the other levels. TBH I have lost so many lives and I’m only getting to the first green star. May have to come back to it. It’s getting me angry

I genuinely can’t remember how far I managed to get on the Wii U version, at least in the Switch one it ‘saves’ your green stars and stamp so you don’t need to get them every run!

I tried it 20 times and then gave up. I once made it to the section after the water bit. In looking at the next parts, the speed booster bit looks absolutely insane.

I did manage to beat Galaxy 2's final level though, so I'm sure if I stuck at it long enough I could do it.

It only saves them if you get to the end of the level

In one sense, any collected in the level are left in kind of a holding state until you finish the level, no idea if you played it on the Wii U but you had to try and collect them each time through which certainly ramped up the intensity somewhat!

Oh my god fury Bowser strawberry float off

I'm up around 85 shines now and he seems to be turning up every 5 minutes now.

Even in just 30 minutes of play I can tell Fury Bowser is going to be around far too often.

When you've beaten the game they should stop Bowser appearing and have a way of calling him (as some shines require him) so you can mop up the remaining shines in peace.
