Good news.

How come? StreetPass stuff can be cool.

Almost worthless if you live in an area where there's barely anyone to StreetPass with. I've only had 2 since launch. The ten coin limit is stupid too.

So because you don't get the full use out of it, nobody should be able to?

Also at the above comment, stylus camera control would be great considering it's like a mouse, also how often do you really move the Camera in Mario anyway?

Well, in Mario 64 (which many of us hope this game will be like) pretty often. I loved the way the camera was introduced as a Lakitu that you controlled. Those were the days.

But it's not like a mouse though. My hand positioning is complete different from when I'm using a stylus to when I'm using a mouse.

Correct.

Oh, and use your thumb on the touch scree, rather than a stylus.

I move the camera in platformers all the time and I found it really frustrating how many fixed perspectives there were in Galaxy. But then you can argue that part of the skill in platform games consists in being able to navigate a level with any given perspective; part of the challenge lies in that. So whatever.

Rayman 3DS had camera controls on the D-pad. That'd no doubt be far easier than them trying to tack on some needless stylus/gyroscope camera scheme.

I can't remember how Mario 64 DS worked in regards to the camera. Either way that game was fine. Never had any problems with controlling it or working the camera.

It was awful to control with the stylus, especially controlling Mario

Finally, someone else who understands that X is the best one. strawberry float that shitty Sega-outsourced Gamecube version with the aerodynamics all wrong.

I was playing it last night and loving it. It's textbook proof as to why Nintendo will always be a cut above Sega. Sega just seemed to miss the point and GX just didn't feel right.

They just didn't "get" it. And, looking back at their histories, it's not difficult to see why - Sega's games always seemed to fall short of the mark where Nintendo excelled.

Monkey Ball is the only game of theirs I genuinely love.

They are both great games, but quite how anyone can delude themselves into thinking X is better than GX I'm not quite sure.

If it wasn't known that GX was developed by Sega this discussion wouldn't be going on.

People just can't accept that SEGA made a better Nintendo game than Nintendo.

I don't remember ever using the stylus during SM64DS.

Did one of the shoulder buttons centre the camera or something?

Yeah, L centred the camera. Otherwise it was a smart cam that auto manipulated itself, same as in Galaxy. It works for Mario games quite well. However in fairness I would like to have seen a second circle pad on the 3DS. FPS on the DS was uncomfortable only using the D-Pad, touch screen and L.

I think GX would be a magnificent game if it wasn't so stupidly tough. It's an incredible achievement, really, but it can only really be fully enjoyed by a limited audience. I admired it greatly; I wanted to love it.

Still, it's miles better than any Wip3out game.

Aye, I'm annoyed that there's only one circle pad. Nintendo :x

Would have agreed with you till Wipeout Pure on PSP. That game was really, really good.

Couldn't say which was better really, its probably still just F Zero, but its very close.

I'm apparantly a Nintendo fanboy and even I can appreciate that GX Dj Wakkapwns the rest of the series. If rumours of Sega developing for the Wii HD launch are true I'd love it to be a HD, 300,000 player F-Zero.

Delude is a bit of a strong word. I could argue that you've deluded yourself that GX is better just because it has better graphics.

I think X just handles better. Once i was used to it GX just felt clumsy. Cars would slip off course easier and I spent more time hugging the crash barrier than racing. Also, the jumps were screwed up monumentally in my opinion. The aerodynamics on X were intuitive - raising or lowering the nose had the "right" effect and the craft descended at a rate that felt realistic. I tried to pull off jumps in GX that I knew worked in X and the craft would glide for about a second, then suddenly sink like a stone. I was outraged - one of the most fundamental elements of the game had been totally ruined. Remember that massive air in Fire Field in X? Well you can kiss those antics goodbye on GX because Sega destroyed it....
