Pretty sure you won't need a subscription to play uploaded levels or to upload them yourself. Historically with these kinds of UGC games that is how it has worked. Online subscriptions are almost always just for for online play, not for other online features like leaderboards and user generated content.
Of course this is Nintendo, and their first go at an online subscription so...

There are a few other UGC games on Switch, not sure how they work. I have Infinite Minigolf so if I remember I'll test it out

Like most games on PSN or Live or NSO?

I don't know of many UGC games, but didn't you need PSN to play LBP3's user created stuff?

Obviously you didn't with 1 and 2 cause the PS3 has free online.

Nope, a PSN subscription is just for online play in LBP3.

Nice. Hopefully Nintendo do the best thing and make the levels be playable for free.

Then again, do we want you in AYMMM? With all them tricky levels? Hmmm.

Oh don't worry, I'll pay for the subscription if I have to. Ain't letting a silly thing like money stand in the way of getting my hands back on that championship belt, figuratively speaking.

As this is a constant thing we shall all chip in and have a small trophy made with Builder Mario on top.

Well, I just successfully published a level in N++ on Switch without an online subscription. Also played some uploaded user levels.

I can't see them putting levels behind a paywall. It's the whole point of the game.

I'd really like to see overworld map and connected levels in some format. So you can make a themed set of worlds and release it as a pack.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Yeah, that would be great.

I'd like better curation as well. More filters or something.

Nice big video from Tim Rogers (at Kotaku) and GrandPOOBear dissecting the trailer and going into detail on a lot of the new additions and what they could mean for the game.

Long watch, but worth watching.

Couple of things I am wondering as well.

Every background they've used has been from a previous Mario title. Which makes me wonder about the "Space" background and I can only think of two games that had that as a location, Mario Land 2 and Mario Galaxy.
