Not sure how clear they made it at the time but I always got the impression this was a "limited stock" kind of thing.

Do they sell the stylus separately or was this it for chances to get one?

I've just got a generic stylus from Amazon that I'm going to use with it but it would have been nice to have a Mario themed one.

I plan on getting a capacitive stylus for next to nothing on ebay. I might add a Mario sticker to it, stay tuned for more.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

If the button controls are quick and responsive, I might just stick to it. With the quick wheels and shortcuts, it doesn't seem so bad.

I got an 11quid one from Amazon and it's amazing.

I'm now on board the train for Maker 2. I traded in a few games (inc Splatoon 2) at GAME and bought some eShop credit. Maker 2 is now downloaded and ready for next Friday!

I've ordered a capacitive stylus from Amazon, too - two stylus pens with four replacement caps for £5.99.

Game are doing a trade in offer for Maker 2 - trade in one of Lets Go Pikachu, Evee, BOTW or NSMBU and get it for £14.99. Seems like a decent deal.

Ordered the £40 digital version from CDkeys.

Feels like the type of game to get digital. And at only 2.8gb why not.

How does buying Switch stuff from CDkeys work? Is it just a code you redeem like on PC?

I got the main game in Zelda finished, so my body is ready for this.

Awesome, will probably go for this option as it seems cheapest.

Not long now! :toot:

I just finished running through the TreeHouse Live segments for Mario Maker. Looks soooooooo good, this week is going to drag.

I’ve got a pretty good idea of what my first course is going to look like too!! :)

Has anyone dug out the original in preparation for this? I'm knocking the dust off my making skills by considering how to remaster some of my old levels. I plan to port a few of them across, and then potentially spruce them up with some slopes.

Not the original (as I never owned it) but I have activated my free trial of NSO in anticipation of this arriving and started to play SMB3. I owned it as a NES game way back yet I'm certain I've never finished it: in fact, I've not played many of the levels (as we always knew how to find the two warp whistles in the first two worlds, our playthroughs were always get those, warp to world 8, attempt to finish game). So I'm working through level by level to get some inspiration.

It's good to hear that many GR Makers are already considering their first moves in the new version! I haven't played the original since the end of the last AYAMMM competition, but I'm looking forward to experiencing the game in its new form.

That's a great idea. I abused the whistle too, so I'm in a similar boat with regards to the amount of undiscovered levels. I didn't realise it was on NSO, so that would be a good way to pass the time!

Yeah on the NES 'app'; the ability to save is a godsend (though it's hard not to exploit it, for example with the card matching minigame :slol: ). I'm sure there are whole worlds in the game I've not played before. I'm on world 3, the theme of which is water; I recall there's a world themed around ice, one in the clouds, and world eight is your standard lava castle fare (though I presume it was anything but standard at the point of release). So I'm hoping to find two worlds that are totally new to me.

It's tough, too. I've struggled with the sun level many times before, but the first appearance of chain chomp took me by surprise. He in particular seems much less forgiving than in subsequent Mario games.

I've definitely not played every level of Marios 1 and 2 either but I've at least defeated the final boss of both at some point in my lifetime, which I can't say about SMB3; plus I feel like the level variety is likely to be greater hear. By contrast I've finished SMW a few times and can remember most of the levels, which I'm hoping will come in handy when it comes to
AYAMMM :shifty:
