The first had levels created by Nintendo developers packaged in I believe. It's not really a traditional 1 player mode though.

It had a bundle of Nintendo levels, but even they had a weird feel to them.

But yeah there was no traditional world structure, just varying difficulties of 100 Mario Challenge (You had 100 lives to get through 10 random levels).

Worlds would be great, even if you just linked 3-4 levels together as a cohesive "Pack".

Thy weren't as cool as the ones that us GRcadians created, though :) .

Looks like they're going to town with the sequel adding plenty of new stuff, I hope the Amiibo Costumes return.

I'll be happy to get to creating levels once again. Unfortunately I did stop very quickly in the WiiU game as I hated the Gamepad as a controller [how I dealt with it for the first year, I'll never understand], but the Switch is much better as a handheld device. I had started on transcribing a few levels of something I'd designed, but only managed one. I've got to find that notepad that they're in. I'll certainly give them a second go now there's slopes.

Being able to make a custom playlist of levels would be a neat addition I hope they add. Better profiles in which to view creators work would also be nice.

Well 3D World is the only game I own not on Switch now.

Give it up Jawa, stop trying to make the Wii u a thing. It's over.

Did the original game have the suits from Mario 3? (Tandoori Suit, Frog suit etc..) if not, I hope they bring them to this.

Tandoori suit?

I hope they make a tandoori suit.

Seriously though. I didn't have the Tanooki suit, it had the leaf which gave you Raccoon Mario, Tanooki suit let you become a statue on pressing down on the dpad.

There was only one power up from each game. Like, there was the amiibo mushroom for SMB, SMB3 had the leaf, SMW had the Feather for a cape and NSMB had the copter mushroom that gave you a propeller head.

It would be cool if the add more suits from 3 onwards.

I would love a World feature. I mean like putting a collection of your courses into a world for others to play.

More Mario Maker is MOST welcome though.

Tanooki suit is what I mean, hopefully they do add more of these.

This is all fine then, but... will the ability to upload your levels, and play levels made by others, be restricted to those who have an online sub?

I'd imagine you can upload without a sub, but to download you'd need one.

If you need an online subscription to actually use this game in a meaningful way, that's poor.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I dunno... to be fair, Super Mario Maker is pretty much an online game; you upload and download courses, you can score and comment on courses, look at completion stats and and view information on where people are dying in the courses. Beyond the actual course creation, the associated tools and functions are focused upon an online infrastructure.

:dread:

I actually had nightmares about this when I was a kid, took me ages to get past that level.
