Great stuff. I resubbed for a year just the other day, so i'm really looking forward to seeing what surfaces in the form of complete worlds.
I know a couple of people on resetera put together level codes for entire thematic worlds, and although i tried a few of the levels (and found them to be good), i never saw it through for the reasons listed above + the lack of cohesiveness (if you died on a level you could just give up and try the next one rather than actually develop some patience and improve).

Quickly checked out the update. You can save six super worlds (i.e. a collection of up to eight linked worlds) locally, but as feared you can only have one super world uploaded at any time. So if I want to collect my AYAMMM levels together into a world for example, I can't have that uploaded at the same time as another collection for other people to play online :(

It's an annoying restriction. I'd have been plenty happy with six upload slots matching the six save slots, but Nintendo.

Can you have multiple *worlds* uploaded, without grouping them into a super world?

While I see it would be nice to have the flexibility, I'm more interested in sharing small collections - if I ever make a *super* world it'll probably only be the one!

Nope, you can only upload one super world. It can be anywhere from one to eight worlds long, but you only get the one.

There isn't a concept of making or uploading individual worlds - they only exist as a part (or whole) of a super world.

So for what you want to do, you can make up to six separate collections, but only have one uploaded at any one time.

Ah, that's disappointing! :(

I know it's unlikely, being Nintendo, but I hope they patch it one day. I could see myself regularly uploading Worlds, but I can't see myself ever uploading a Super World because I'd never want to commit to using my one available slot...

The language of "super worlds" is also annoying for trying to explain it :lol:

You get 6 save slots for super worlds. You can only have 1 super world uploaded for others to play online. Worlds are just a thing inside super worlds, they aren't a thing you can create or upload on their own. Each super world can contain a maximum of 8 worlds.

That probably puts it better than I did above!

Say I make one super world with one world in it, and upload it. If I want to make it have another world inside, I have to replace the whole thing and lose the play count?

Looks like the SMB2 mushroom is gonna be pretty crazy with how much you can do with it. Watching level makers mess around and seeing all kinds of possibilities it's wild.

I started playing through a super world earlier and it feels like a game changer - suddenly 1-ups and coins are meaningful and therefore much more rewarding, there is a reason to keep trying at a level even if it's frustrating, and (most importantly) you can actually get into a good flow in an extended play session without constantly searching through menus or trawling through the random rubbish. Obviously you have to pick a good super world to begin with, but then its all good!

You can't like/comment on super worlds, only the levels within them, and the number of plays isn't tracked - so basically there are no stats that will get reset when you reupload.

These are the exact points a made yesterday - previously one ups, coins etc were only beneficial to the 100 Mario challenge (or whatever its called now), but the inconsistency in level quality, paired with the ability to simply skip a level at the point of death, meant that it never really worked. Here though i can see you wanting to stock up on those one ups to make it to the end of the "game".

Its a shame about only one super world being uploadable at a time. Maybe we could have an agreed week or two where all the publishers upload their AYAMMM before changing it at a later date should they wish.

Wow, I was a bit disappointed with this game on launch, but the world builder mode should let talented designers make their own Mario games with a difficulty curve and theme.

Excited to jump back in!

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Yeah I'd definitely recommend adding the GR makers to your follow list in the game, we've got some talented makers around and I've enjoyed playing the levels that people on here have made a lot more than just diving into random courses. :toot:

Be sure to check out Karl's ultra handy course list and add anything in there that you make: mariomakers/
