I had a play around for a couple of hours yesterday evening. Enjoyed some of your levels (some i need to go back to to try and finish) and was impressed with the world mode - nice and easy to pick up from where you left off. Even remembers how many lives you had.
And after 15 minutes playing even my wife was humming the SMB 3 music, before looking up and saying "this makes me feel nostalgic".

Obviously you have to pick a good super world to begin with, but then its all good!

So true. I sat and played through an entire 4-World Super World with optional levels and all. It had great theming, and a gentle difficulty increase. Was great to just sit and play Mario for an extended period and have all the content put right in front of me.

So much easier to get a recommended good world code and jump on for a few hours of solid gameplay than fiddling with all the individual levels.

Are there videos of any of these stages?

Very briefly tried out the world maker earlier, seems like it's going to really inspire some good stuff.

I know it's kinda dumb what with the avalanche of great new items and features that came with the update, but I'm mostly feeling disappointment towards the World Maker for the lack of secret exits.
Super Mario World is probably my favorite 2D Mario, and that game was all about secrets. Secret goodies, secret exits, secret levels, secret worlds, secrets within secrets,...

I really hope they add it in later in a minor update.

Yeah, SMW is my favourite game of all time, and the secret exits blew my mind back then. It’s really the only thing that it’s missing for me, but other than that it’s fantastic and has me loving the game again.

I will give this a look as well. I hope they don't decide to do any tweeks to it, as if they re-upload it you loose all your save progress (i found this with another well realised resetera "full game").

About time i revisited this though, need to check out some of the recent AYAMM levels created here also.

Away from AYAMMM I wanted to make a speed run level as I haven’t done one in ages.

Let me know what you think, knocked this up in 2 hours.

From the first page of the thread back in 2019:

Pedz wrote:I'm going to make the best level. It's going to be called slide. It's going to start with Mario on a block and then you go on your butt down a slope for 10 minutes and boom end. Best level ever

Can't believe you didn't deliver on this for AYAMMM Pedz!

Sorry to bump an old thread, just wanted to share a recommendation. I dusted off the game recently after stumbling across the below tweet - this chap has created a set of levels themed as a whole SMB game, so thought I'd give it a try.

It's really pretty solid, lots of clever ideas, bar one or two missteps nothing too hard or unfair in there. If anyone is after an excuse to get playing again, you could do worse than giving it a go.

I was never imaginative enough or patient enough to be good at creating my own levels, but I do enjoy playing other people's, and it's nice to have a set of them without the nonsense Kaizo stuff or music levels you often find.

I too have seen the attention this has been getting, and would love to try it, but I don't think it alone justifies £12 for a Nintendo online membership.
