I take back the not sure if it was worth i thing. It clearly is, it’s not a mega long story but the variety is awesome and the music is incredible.

Final battle with bowser was a bastard, had real issues getting the timing with his tail. Last section of the game was epic.

VR mode screens

Looking forward to trying this in VR but I can't see it feeling all that comfortable to play - holding the switch up to your face for long periods does not sound like great ergonomics!

Looking at the Mario render it's clearly going to be 30 second gameplay bursts

Hopefully that will be the case here and I imagine that they can come up some very inventive quick-burst challenges from the existing Odyssey gameplay and mechanics, but how it pans out for BotW will be more interesting!

Tried the vr mode on this earlier. While it was a nice distraction, it's also pretty gooseberry fool. The sense of depth just isn't there and the resolution is so bad that you can't make much out once Mario gets a certain distance away.

I'd love to see what could be done with a galaxy style ground up vr game though.

Any idea how you unlock the fourth item in each of the levels on the level select screen in the VR mode?

Never played a 3d Mario before.

I'm about to start the 500 moon Darker Side of the Moon final level. Judging by all the cheering and the 'you're so brave' comments from the NPCs this isn't going to be easy

What are you using to hold the switch for VR mode? I would like to try VR but do you need labo to make the goggles? Is there something you can just buy (that isn't made of cardboard)?

Fired this up again, last time I played I left the game with only 250 moons found got up to 280 now game is still brilliant fun

The boss rush-esq Dark Side of the Moon is bloody hard though

I can definitely still make a case for this being my favourite game on Switch, an absolute gem of an experience

Absolutely fantastic game.

Fun fact, the longest between 3D Mario games was between 64 and Sunshine (6 years 1 month based on Japanese release dates). It'll be 6 years 1 month since Odyessy this November (which in itself is frightening!). A new one has to be a cert for the Switch 2 launch.
