I've reached the invisibility stage, and I'm not certain I'll have the patience for it. (I actually think it's a bit cheap sticking this stage of any so far after the last checkpoint.)

I'm really not enjoying it anymore, it's just frustrating. And I genuinely worry that if I somehow do it I'll miss the flag pole or final 10 coin. I think I'd cry.

Spam the x button and it will make it a lot easier. If you really want to cheese it, play it in 2 player and you will have a crown, which makes it incredibly easy.

And done. Phew! Thank you for the advice chaps, the x button hint was a great shout.

And I got the flag pole. Never have to play that level again :toot:

Massive congratulations! It’s a brilliant feeling knowing you will never have to do that level again! I enjoyed mastering it but I’d not really used the badges in the main game at all, so it felt a bit off that the last level forced you to use them. I much prefer 3D world’s final level.

Thanks for a great and thoughtful post.

Doesn't take anything away from my enjoyment of Wonder but fair points and makes me appreciate Yoshi Story even more.

Really enjoyed reading that.

Glad of interest!

I didn't even get on to the Melon Smelling mechanic in Yoshi's Story, or the freeform fun of the fruit system itself!

Anyway - I'll try to get round to the Wonder finale sometime I guess

Totally!

I did actually finish final final again today. Was ok, just because I've got it locked down so much, because I was so rubbish at it first time and each section took me so many re-trys.

Yes, it is a bit naughty having the games toughest level built around it's defacto assist mode in the badges. I too have real affection for 3D World level, not so much for Wonders Final final stage. Final final isn't that difficult, I mean most of it is pretty binary it being 2D there are inherently less variables, once you know when to jump etc it becomes easy and isn't really any kind of strain on your reflexes or timing.

I would more compare final final to 3D World penultimate level (the one with those 10 sec sequences where you had to grab the star), in that final final individual sections weren't that much harder than individual sections in earlier stages, the challenge was you had to do 3 or 4 of them in a row between check points. I would say final final difficulty was more in tune with the rest of the game whereas 3D world last level was a massive difficulty spike out of nowhere.

Final final aesthetic is also the least pleasant of the stages, dislike that gold filter with industrial gear in the background plus that horrible green poisonous liquid everywhere.

Surprised that I bounced off this. Could only play in short bursts because it felt so ‘extra’ all the time. I much preferred 3D World and Odyssey. Maybe I’m done with 2D Mario. Hard to explain.

I know exactly what you mean. Though I have found I have enjoyed playing an hour or so every couple of days. Which was not the way I consumed Odyssey and 3D World.

3D World is 2D Mario, let's be honest. Just in 3D.

I agree with every word you’ve said!

They really could have done better with the last level’s vibe. It felt a bit like a hangover from the New games in terms of art style.

Rolled the credits on this last night. Ended up enjoying it a lot. It would appear I have missed quite a few stages along the way though. Would they have always been there, or are some only available post credits?

Anyway, look forward to playing through them. I have got the green check mark against most levels I have found, so I guess I’m not far from the final final stage (still have a handful of special world levels to find also).

Blimey, how did I miss so many? I thought I was being meticulous. There seems to be at least 12, possibly more. Nice problem to have anyway.
