Bit worried that they've almost thrown too much into the mix though - the beauty of a great Mario game is in how they layer and build the fundamental building blocks in clever ways to surprise you with what you can achieve and discover in the courses. With so many power ups and badges I don't feel like we'll get the same depth of play and discovery with them

Also - this appears to be a "strand" game, which I am delighted to see.

Having watched the Direct this morning, after my boss decided to call me during the live broadcast yesterday, I would cede that this looks interesting and has lots of new features and ideas going for it. My concern is whether I will bother to get on board with stuff like the badges. I really like the wonder seed effects that were shown - I'm hoping they will be randomised and not set in stone per stage - could end up being a genius gimmick. Also a plus is the open area aspect. It's a shame that I have so little appetite for 2D Mario now, but the wife wants this so we'll end up with a copy anyway.

My impresssion was the Wonder seeds were specific to their level but I may be wrong.

Wasn't initially too fussed about this but I have to say it looks incredible.

Yeah, all pre-orders should receive the sheet, that's normally how they do it.
