So uh, can someone explain the stage rules like I'm five? What is stage striking and/or lower seed banning?

Also are those standard stages or battlefield/omega forms?

Standard stages. Like I said at the bottom tho, no one has to follow this if both parties agree on a stage together.

Once we get everyone signed up, I'll put everyone into a bracket. Since I don't know how good everyone is I can't really seed properly so I'll just shuffle the seeds this time around. On the bracket you'll have a number, and that number is your seed.

There are 5 starter stages. For round 1, the lower seeded player will strike 1 of the starter stages. The higher seed then strikes 2 of the remaining 4 stages. Finally the lower seed strikes 1 more stage, leaving 1 left which will be the stage for the first round. Essentially the lower seed ultimately decides what stage is played on for the first round.

For subsequent rounds, the winner gets to strike 3 stages from the entire stage list. The loser then gets to pick any stage from the remaining 6 stages to play on for the next round.

Let me know if you need anymore help. If all this is too complicated tho and people would prefer a more casual ruleset, just let me know. I'd rather hold a tournament everyone would want to participate in.

Would definitely make things more simple, though some characters excel with platforms and some excel without, so it's more balanced to include stages with and without. Plus, it's a platform fighter 8^)
