Surely Ring Fit girl/boy has to get in there as a character? It's blown up in Lockdown and is tailor made for fighting?

Min Min seems like a lot of fun, and I love her design and colour schemes and the Arms music seems brilliant even to someone who never played it like me.

Am I the only one who is happy to fork out for the Fighter Passes even just for the new levels and music? Dragon Quest and Fatal Fury and Persona levels are all in my friends' most-played. Especially Dragon Quest!

I thought so too, but I think she might be too slow. If you get past her 'bubble' of hitboxes (which is generally an entire stage distance in range, but very small hitboxes), she struggles a lot even mid-range because of how slow she is. It's then not too easy for her to retreat either because of how much space she needs to box you out safely.

This is what I found! Not too problematic when you’re stationary and pushing away, say, K. Rool; but anyone with a projectile and even a modicum of speed feels like they’re going to run Ramrams around her.

I would love to see Ring Fit be represented. Spirits of Allegra and Abdonis. :datass:

I would love them to really focus on recent Nintendo IPs rather than 3rd Party characters for the rest of FP2. We'll probably get a Sword/Shield starter, but would also love to see Rex + Pyra/Mythra, Ring Fit girl/boy, Agent 8 from Octo Expansion, Captain Toad etc.

This, but all of the time. My preferences would be Vaati (come ooooooon), Rex/Pyra but she’s wearing clothes, Zacian but I’d accept Inteleon, Tom Nook, and then some absolute wildcard like a chap made from Labo cardboard or a Sushi Striker or something.

You say that, but I was fighting a Dedede yesterday, and I gooseberry fool you not, ramram just did a complete circle around him when he was in the air. The hitbox is just too small. And the percent and knockback just isn't worth it. I've found ramram is only good as a quicker nair (but even then the range is shortened and it's still not that quick), and as a down-angled smash to stuff recoveries.

A Sword/Shield Pokemon is an almost certainty, but I think it will be the new legendary Urshifu that was introduced in the DLC.

Urshifu would make sense, but I can’t help feeling it’d be rather dull. A straightforward brawler. Maybe it could change between single and rapid-strike? Inteleon as a sniper, Cinderace juggling its pebble off foes’ faces, or Zacian as a quadrupedal swords’man’ would be more interesting IMO.

Who is honestly excited to play as Captain Toad? It's no good going Nintendo only unless the characters are really exciting.

I'd love to see them go for Shantae. An indie rep, long Nintendo history, female, strawberry floating incredible soundtrack...

The idea it needs to be Ninty only never made sense to me when you have the likes of Terry and Bayonetta who are more interesting than the majority of the cast. Why intentionally limit yourself from such a wide pool?

Personal preference on my part. I’ve always preferred the days when it was a celebration of Nintendo, as opposed to now when it’s a celebration of Nintendo and friends and people they kinda know and people they don’t know who sweet-talked the doorman and are now sat in the corner being lecherous and swigging other people’s booze. It doesn’t help that none of those examples excite me either. (I enjoyed Pirate’s Curse but found the character design... not to my tastes.)

Anyway, it’s purely a personal thing and we are way too far down that track now for them to revert, sadly. I fully expect them to mix in a bunch of third-party characters which I duly won’t buy.

same here, i mean i do like some of the 3rd parties like sonic, mega man, cloud and banjo & kazooie, but im not sure they were worth the dreadful characters of snake, the demon hag, terry and joker.

and anyone who thinks nintendo doesnt have a wide pool is clearly unaware of a lot of games

Surely Alex Kidd is a shoe-in? He would be a short range power fighter with the helicopter transformation as an up-b move and the motorbike as right-b. He could play rock paper scissors as his taints. He has a tailor made set of really good 8-bit tunes for music.

His level could be a vertically scrolling downwards one based off of the opening to miracle world that has the breakable blocks containing items and then it scrolls down to the underwater section which then messes with the gravity for all players. I don't recall there being an underwater level on smash.

there are many characters who seem like "shoe ins" to various people to ave never made it
