If the next two characters are as good as BK (and I can't think of who might possibly meet that criteria) then I might consider getting the pass but as it stands, I only care about Banjo so will only buy that.

Don't think anything would be more hype than Banjo for me. Apparently some 'leaker' correctly guessed these 3 DLC picks and subsequently say the last 2 aren't 3rd party.

Not bothered with either myself. Another anime sword guy and Banjo, which I don't like the banjo games.

Ah well.

It's cool to see Banjo there in a way though. If it was Conker it'd be a different story.

Some axe wielder from Fire Emblem 3 houses. Called Edelgard or something. And Sylux from Metroid.

Seems very Nintendo to do this, but at the same time, they can't be that stupid, surely... There would be much more exciting first party characters.

Didn't Nintendo say with the Joker reveal that all the DLC characters would be third party (or along those lines)? Each character announcement has been attached to a "Super Smash Bros x [FRANCHISE]" banner, it's been a consistent pattern and has been attached to franchises otherwise not yet seen in that series.

I would hope for more third party. Am also really pleased for Dragon Quest inclusion can't wait to get some of that delicious soundtrack playing in Smash (and doing my best to not feel incredibly bad for supporting the horrible composer by proxy )

no all they said is thatd it be characters that are new to the series (which was obvious) a lot of people misheard that as new franchises to smash, and there was another comment about how they be in a similar vain of the expectations you might have had for joker

Well, given that the big gimmick of Ultimate is that EVERYONE IS HERE, aren't technically all potential DLC characters 'new to the series'? Seems like a weird way for Nintendo to announce it, like no gooseberry fool new characters will be new to the series.

thats not the point i was making, reggie reaffirmed this a people conflated new characters and new franchises

Still find it bizarre there isn't a Resident Evil representative in the game.

I think guns are the problem with Resi characters. I know Joker has a gun, but I believe it is a BB Gun.

There's no way we don't get a season 2 of Fighter Pass >,>

Also, feel like mentioning how good it felt to have proper character reveals again as opposed to what we got with Joker.

Nintendo still clearly haven't forgiven Capcom enough over Resident Evil 4 to have a series rep in the game.
