About to start Smash for the first time. All DLC bought and downloaded. Opening musical number is lovely.

Put a few hours into Banjo so far. I think he's pretty fun and quirky. He can get pretty aggressive but is easily trumped by quicker characters. Stealing stocks with side b will never get old too.

Banjo side B is brilliant when enemies have high percent damage, so many easy kills.

Any idea if I can use DLC levels if I host a private match with people who don’t have the DLC?

I believe you should be able to as I've actually had a couple of online matches against people on the quick play option on the Omega and Battlefield versions of stages I haven't got.

More DLC on the wah. Looks like this game will never end. There's no way they're going to top this for the next instalment and no way they're going to abandon this franchise so expect ports for whatever console comes next

"Super Smash Bros. Ultimate... er... ... um... ... What can we add onto it to make sure we've defined it as a port? What word can beat ultimate? Or at least sit beside it?"

They’ll go for a completely different word next time, to show that they’re not trying to compete size-wise with Ultimate. I’m much more excited for SSB6 than this era’s ‘greatest hits’ package to be honest.

I think they need to do something different for a future game. I can imagine a big RPG with turn based mechanics where you grow your roster to eventually have the option of all those characters as party members.

I was watching a strategy video the other day and the opening was some sprite based animations of a smash bros fight. It looked amazing and made me wonder what a version like that could be.

I can’t see how they can just bring out another version of the game in the same vein. I would buy it, but it feels like they’ve maybe got to try something different now.

Legit the first thing I thought of was wanting to try these with Ultimate lol.

...Maybe for Ryu, Ken and Terry (if he gets fighting game inputs too)

You'd sacrifice smaller movements, but I feel like it would make inputs more consistent. I play tilt stick so it makes me curious how it would work using a D-pad for it.

The single player on this is enormous. Makes other fighting games look shameful.

Still working through the spirit mode and beat the final boss..... But then the game says nope. Keep going.

Just finished Dracula's castle and nearly maxed out my skills. Not touched multi player, DLC or anything else.

The different spirits, music and presentation are easily the best tribute to gaming ever realised within another game. Like a history lesson on the last 30 + years.

Something genuinely magical about Kirby inhaling Ryu from street fighter, then wearing a little Ryu wig.

Depends how you view quality against quantity.

Also for anyone interested, I'm hosting an online tournament tomorrow at 2PM with a £25 Eshop voucher going to the winner. If you're interested in taking part, head to my Twitter below and see the pinned tweet for deets.

I think World of Light is brilliant to be honest. I found it extremely addictive and it's probably my favourite single player mode in Smash.

45 minute “livestream” Direct for Terry tomorrow. I say livestream, it’s the prerecorded format of Sakurai chilling in his office showing off the fighter.

What’s interesting is the length of the Direct. For reference Banjo was 25 mins (with 10 mins of non Banjo stuff).

Wonder if they have anything else up their sleeve for 6.0.

its also worth noting that theyve confirmed that they wont be walking about any other fighters and sakurai said that home run contest was the last dlc mode, so you gotta wonder what he'll be talking about
