would of preferred bomberman to be a main fighter than an assist trophy

Aye that's a shame, still hope that means we're getting a few third party assist trophies. Maybe more from Konami+Hudson or Sega/Capcom/Square

I like the echo fighters thing, means we'll probably see Dixie Kong in the game.

Just saw more Inkling from the Treehouse stream. Leave it to Sakurai for being able to translate a character so well into Smash. They look really fun.

Seems the starting roster will be around 8-12 characters and you need to unlock the rest?

Also yeah Itsmilner that seems to be the case, which is kind of cool. I liked unlocking characters.

Certainly looking fast-paced from the Invitational, and it does look good overall.

Way to steal my thread kek

But ye, super hyped for this. Unfortunately does still look a bit too Smash 4-y, but that's just looks! Maybe when the game finally arrives and we get our hands on it we can see just how much better the game really is. One, lag-filled directional air dodge is definitely nice to see (though why no wavedashing? Literally no excuse), and other offensively beneficial mechanics like instant options out of a dash are more than welcome.

Love seeing my Brawl ****** back, definitely gonna try out Snake, Wolf and maybe Icies. Hope Falco is a bit more fluid and back to form. Ganon is looking great, though no guaranteed ganoncide is a bit silly. Ridley looks surreal lol, so big... literally! As great as it is to have everyone back, I can't help feel Young Link, Pichu, Lucina and Dark Pit coming back is a hit overkill. YL since we already have a small Link in the form of Toon Link, Pichu because she was such a gimmick to nerf good players (though maybe we'll see some sick disrespect plays), Lucina because she literally takes away the essence of Marth while still being very viable (at least in 4) and Dark Pit just... not enough differences from Pit at all. I'm all up for 'echo' characters, or clone characters as they used to be, like how people used to consider Luigi, Dr Mario, Young Link, Pichu, Falco and Lucas, etc. to be clones, even though they had different moves, they were just similar, these echo characters literally just look pretty much exactly the same where the differences only serve to belittle the original or are just redundantly bad. But oh well, guess we'll see how much they really affect the game.

Something that didn't happen so much in the tournament which I'm guessing is because they were mentally playing Smash 4, is off-stage play. I'd be interested to know how viable off-stage options and attempted gimps are now that recoveries have been universally nerfed via air dodges, lessened magnet hands, etc. Here's hoping for a game which better rewards aggressive options.
