It's no worse than when Piranha Plant was released, it seems to be dying down for me already. It's gone from every other match, to maybe one in five?

Though I suppose I'm not helping the problem- I'm one of them! :slol:

Idk what to think of Joker. He seems rather laggy and clunky, but he does have a reasonable combo game. When he has Arsene he's so powerful and good, but yeah, I think he has quite a high skill ceiling to use him effectively. Gun is a weird ass move. Seems to have some use at times, but they're quite niche.

The matchmaking still doesn't give a strawberry float about items being turned off, I see.

My brother and I have been playing coop today and yesterday and over 30 odd matches I think we only had items once, and that was where the opponents had fake smash balls on as a bait.

I'm just being dramatic, I had two in the last three, but they were the only ones I've had today.

I do keep getting regular stages with hazards on when I have it set to Omega, though.

Matchmaking has been generally nice to me since the update a while back. Instead of items I'll get players with 2 stock 3 mins and wonder what world they live in.

Iv'e been using Joker online a bit since the day he was added although I haven't encountered any in return, making it difficult to gauge how well I'm utilising his skillset.

I feel like his gun game could do with a buff, but overall it seems to me like defence is the best offence; using rebel's guard with Arsene active has clinched more than a few victories for me.

Anyone got any tips for completing Classic on 9.9. I’m really struggling. I’ve been going Simon.

Yeah, don't do that. Play a character with better kill potential I guess, less zoning. I just did it with Falcon.

Ganondorf's side smash has ended pretty much every classic fight before it starts.

I've been feeling pretty underwhelmed with a lot of the sword characters in this game recently. Funnily enough, Mii Sword Fighter has been the most engaging to use for me atm >,> The current build I use has proven quite potent offline and online. I feel like the character is actually super slept on.

That’s probably because the Miis are some of the most bland character designs ever made by Nintendo so no one really wants to play as them.

I only used Mii Sword Fighter in the main 'story' mode, buy I loved playing as me. Actually when I did play online against Jazzem and Kriken it was the best win I had when using him (may have been the only one at the time.)

The stigma definitely holds them back. But there are still some cool outfits you can use tho. Current two main builds I use are Isaac and the Yiga costume. I dunno, something just clicked and I'm having a fun time playing em'

Mii Swordfighter and Gunner are generally considered pretty good. People are definitely aware of them. I've fought my fair share of Gunners recently. Really painful to fight them because their entire strat is camp and run. An over abundance of projectiles will do that though. For both characters, they're not necessarily difficult to fight, you just have to be patient, the problem is that's very flawed design in a fighting game when it's done to this extent. Won an online tournament against a Gunner in grands recently, last game took 6 minutes. It was a comfortable 2-stock win, but it just wasn't fun. There were times where I just stood and did nothing and the Gunner was still spamming away despite being forced to make the approach.

I find it genuinely fascinating (particularly since watching The Smash Brothers documentary on YT several years back) that there's such an active and dedicated competitive community attached to this game. I literally play the single player for lols and fanservice and the multiplayer for lols and item/stage/character/move hilarity.

Hero and Banjo. So hype. Discuss.
