Leon is the biggest name in Resident Evil. I'd be absolutely mystified if they chose anyone else.

They do seem weirdly taken with “Boulder-Puncher” Redfield, so it would not surprise me to see him in there instead.

Why is Geno so desired?

I've never played the Super Mario RPG so don't really get why some people are so obsessed with him.

I think at some point Sakurai had mentioned including him and thinking of some moves for him. He's also just a cool character a lot of people wanted back in the day, particularly for Brawl before we knew about the possibility of having so many 3rd party characters. I think he's cool, plus I know Sakurai wanted to include him back in the day, so it's kinda like wanting it for him as well.

Note: any part where I talk about Sakurai is strictly on a 'iirc' basis, I could be completely wrong lel

to be fair there are a lot of characters hes wanted to include (or considered at least) at one point but never returned too

A lot of mad buffs today. Tried out Min min for a few min mins, seems fun. Lots of interesting, unique stuff. Can't wait to try her out more. Probs gonna try some more Falcon, Ike and Falco from the buffs. Ike's up B now kills consistently at like 90 now for some reason. So that's probably gonna need a nerf, but may as well have fun with it for now.

I think i've just "clicked" with this after having it for 6 months.

How does the fighter pass work? Do you have to buy them or can you unlock the fighters in game?

The equivalent would be Mighty and Ray from the SEGASonic arcade game that never got their bow in the Sonic universe proper until much later, Mighty in Knuckles Chaotix and then both of them in Sonic Mania Plus. People just love the character, but its a character in the most prevalent video game series in videogames today, and hes never brought up. I'd be very hyped to see Geno back.

More than forgotten, he’s practically been scrubbed from history. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga on the GBA had a Geno doll announce results in one of the mini-games, a neat touch. In the 3DS remake the doll was scrapped.

I’m not quite sure where the Nintendo-Squeenix relationship stands at the moment. On the one hand Nintendo’s machines get good games like Octopath and the Bravelies. On the other we have the approach to Cloud’s music in Smash and the Geno thing.

If we get anyone for the next character I'd expect Dr. Robotnik as we have all the other major villains.

I'd have thought that Jonesy from Fortnite would be a shoe-in as well, especially if they let him build on the levels somehow as a defensive move. Makes more sense than Steve from Minecraft.

Rounding it out might be Melia from Xenoblade.

Min Min is so different I love it. Not my usual style of fighter willing to spend more time with her to figure her out. Her stage control potential could be wild.
