Yeah, although I personally find the weight okay, I'm not a big fan of the joy-con and I usually prefer to use a Hori Split Pad Pro.

Yep, Mario Kart 8 Super Deluxe! The same as Deluxe+Pass but with 1080p presentation in handheld mode  .

Next year could be huge for Switch, if the console is BC then I could see a lot more third party releases next year on OG Switch as it basically would be launch window for Switch 2 if that’s coming in Half 2. Chances are a majority of those would get patches for improved performance on the new console 2 which would then boost sales also.

Same. Bloody annoying, having to pay for a screen that sits behind my TV and is never used.

This.

I would say that 95% of the time I'm using the docked mode.

I reckon a new Mario Kart will be a launch title.

I reckon it'll launch with 3D Mario and Mario Kart will come within 6 months.

Small chance they launch with Mario Kart 8 Super Deluxe that includes the booster pack tracks

Mario Kart 8 Complete.

Isn't it around this rumoured launch time that all the season pass courses will be finished with?

No, the season pass courses will finish this year, will be a final wave in 2-3 months I think.

Hopefully it gets delayed so that I look clever :shifty:

I was just digging around for Switch 2 news and I discovered that a website for Switch 2 already exists :o .

Switch2 is a UK-based heating company offering "Smart & Sustainable Heat Network Solutions". Click.

What aspects of the Switch do you hope they keep for Switch 2?

Obviously the OLED screen but anything else?

Unfortunately, Peter, the OLED screen is the main feature rumoured not to be a part of Switch 2. It seems that a decent quality LED screen could be used instead in order to keep costs down. Whether that "keeping costs down" aspect will be more appreciated from a Nintendo or consumer perspective, we'll have to see! From a personal perspective, I thought that the OLED screen was a "nice but not major" change from the original Switch model.

I hope to see that a cart port is a part of Switch 2; for both backwards compatibility and new games.

The Switch 2 surely has to have a cart port so you can play Switch games?
Screwing over customers like that by not including it would be epicly stupid and surely the hardware needed for the port must be cheap as chips by now.

I would certainly hope so, man - although platform holders are gradually pushing consumers towards downloads instead. And that pushing is becoming more of a "big shove" now.

I can see them having a cart free option with lower price but many fans have loads of games they love playing and don't want to have to have both Switch 1 and 2 available to play them.

I hope it still mitigates energy risk sustainability

Rumours that accessory manufacturers have been given access to some Switch 2 info on how the console will look dimension wise. Word is the console will be bigger than the current OLED model but still smaller than a Steam Deck.

One interesting bit however is the joycon, more specifically, how they connect to the console. Word is that the rail system has been replaced by a magnetic connection for attaching joycons to the console.

https://vandal.elespanol.com/noticia/1350770848/exclusiva-switch-2-conocemos-en-primicia-nuevos-detalles-de-la-proxima-consola-de-nintendo/

One would imagine then if this was the case then current joycon will not be forward compatible? At least in terms of physically connecting to the console.

I'm still holding out hope for stealth Wii U functionality.
Take the bluetooth video chips from Wii U, swap them around (So now the handheld broadcasts and Dock receives) and boom, Wii U lives.

Would be cheap enough to implement, totally optional for devs and would allow for some cool functionality, not to mention opening up Wii U, DS and 3DS games for download. How else will we get Starfox Zero back?

It'll never happen but damn would it be good.
