Couldn't the current Switch SoC technically output at 4K? Obviously not a game, but I'm guessing the tech was just about good enough for streaming 4K videos? Or is this one of those rumours we've seen endlessly so it's blended into something where I'm not sure if its a rumour or fact

I just had a thought for a good Switch 2 launch game. I know it's a sony game but I'd really like to see

It could be a great, calm game for while on the commute and it could look really amazing.

If I'm in charge at Nintendo, I'm launching every new console with a new Mario Kart. The numbers speak for themselves!

The only way it doesn't launch with Mario Kart 9/10 is if it launches with 3D Mario and they hold Mario Kart back a couple of months.

I'm fully expecting 2025 to be like 2017 in terms of first party outfit. They know full well the importance of momentum after their experiences with Wii U and Switch and they'll be gearing up ready for it.

A day 1 release of a new 3D Mario would be heaven for me.

If it does launch in early 2025, with a brand new Mario Kart, 3D Mario and Pokemon Legends Z-A within the first 6 months, will be enough to give it a good start (if its backwards compatible that is) at the very worst.

3D Mario and Mario Kart at Christmas would move tons of consoles, new Monolithsoft game in between and maybe a 2D Zelda from Grezzo.

If it's fully backwards compatible, I could see it coming with Mario Kart 8 preinstalled.

Mario Kart 8 has been such a huge success that it's hard to imagine Kart 9 hitting those heights. If it innovates then "this ain't as good as Kart 8"... but if it's similar then "this is just the same as Kart 8". It could be a very tricky sequel.

When Nintendo reveal the shock new VR compatibility of the Switch 2, they can simply make the same game as MK8 but with VR play included for revolutionary excitement!

Surely a Mario Kart 9 demo would make sense too? Have Mario and a couple of characters/karts available, as well as the first cup on 50/100/150cc so people can get a good feel for it, before buying it anyway.
