My hope is that the main problems were with the initial run and they've improved/are improving over time.

What did you decide to do in the end, mate,?

They actually wanted £29 each, which is hilarious

Update: I just got the return delivered... and they've only sent the right joy-con. Just rang them up and they've sent them back separately so the left should arrive tomorrow... 8^)

Yeah seems pretty poor eh...shame as I remember it being pretty decent back when I was sending in my GBA SP and several DSes due to dead pixels, either I was lucky or it's gotten much worse over time

They have a pretty horrendous score and bunch of reviews on Trustpilot, though some are for the UK Online store as well. Guessing they cheaped out on budgeting for all of this, seems like repairs are contracted to another company

Yeah the company name on the returns is "Repairtech".

Props to the DPD driver though, this morning I got an estimated delivery of 10:57-11:57 and it arrived just before 11:10. Their website gets less of a pass as it kept being temporarily unavailable when I was trying to track the delivery, so I'm glad they sent texts too.

EDIT: Some of these trust pilot reviews are dumb though

Yes, you do have to be a member at CeX to get cash from them. Without a membership card you can only part-ex with them.

Ha I don't doubt that, last time I checked it before today there were ones along the lines of "won't make a new F-Zero, */*****" :p

Well forget that then, I'm not up for getting a professional fence card

Plot twist:

I synced the returned joy cons to check they were charged before I went to trade them in tomorrow, and noticed the left stick was being fine. Some testing on the calibration screen later and the problems seems to have completely gone away.

Did they fix them as they were diagnosing the problem and then try and charge me after the fact? It certainly appears that way!

Well at least that’s a good result, I bet they do fix them before sending the quote/invoice if it’s a relatively simple fix for them (and not a smashed screen etc) because they probably just assume you will pay it

They do that to prevent people trading in stolen gooseberry fool I think and money laundering laws.

Yeah it only discourages people who are clueless cos there's a paper trail, can just give someone else's address. Good to make it harder to cash out bad for privacy. I've never had them spam me or anything though.

I've always found CEX to be decent with regards to selling stuff for cash when I've been skint. Generally there prices are pretty reasonable as well.

Strange bump, but alright.

I think my 3rd joycon is starting to drift. One of my Smash ones so I'm a bit pissed. Anything changed in regards to best solutions for this? Gonna try recalibrate them first tho as advised, see if that solves anything.
