Yeah, you can wirelessly connect current joy-con to the Lite and use the full controller functionality. You'd need to prop up your Lite against something whilst playing and I'd doubt many folk would bother with this... I can't imagine two people standing up with portable joy-con and playing whilst squinting at the small-ish screen.

Grow an extra pair of arms.
Or get something like the play stand thing hori made.

Should have called it the Switch Pocket.
I'm suprised they didn't include some kind of dongle to cast to a TV instead of the dock.

As a separate, stand-alone system I can see the attraction but I have concerns about the capability / ease of using it as a secondary ("outdoor") console for existing Switch players.
I'm keen to find out more about this aspect!

I can't see that it's significantly more portable than the existing console; certainly not to the extent that it's worth buying if you have a Switch and yearn to take it outside, but have been stopped because it's a couple CM too wide
However, as a cheaper 'in' for the kids, I reckon it looks ok.

Seems a waste of money. Spend an extra £100 and get the dock and detachable controllers. It also doesn't look that portable to me.

I doubt Nintendo have anything in place to make switching between two switches (lol) easy for a single person.

Yep, anyone who buys a Switch Lite purely to have a "spare" that they can take outside with them is lacking in common sense, given Nintendo's approach to all their accounts on their systems. I can't imagine them setting it up so your profiles and your saves can cross back and forth.

Wonder if they'll patch some games to support controllers other than joycons or if there's just going to be some games that the Switch Lite will never play?
They didn’t make any changes like that when the Wii U had no motion on pro controllers why the hell would they now.

Hahhahahaaha not a strawberry floating chance! I’m half expecting the same error you get on 3DS when you try and log into a second one.

30% lighter, 10% smaller... I'm not sure that Switch owners exploring the portability of the Lite are "lacking in common sense".

The Switch's system functionality was updated to allow logon on multiple consoles (but not simultaneously) a few months ago.

Same, but I’m happy with this existing and happier that it’s not a Pro addition, at this stage anyway. No splitting the Switch game power market for me please!

I highly doubt Nintendo will have any sort of linked accounts in place for existing owners looking for a secondary machine but that comes from someone still smarting over having to re-buy the VC games I bought on Wii when I moved over to Wii U.
