It's a perfect little portable that is the successor to the 3DS but with the modern library of the Switch. The big price different will also help it sell big numbers. I'd have liked it if Nintendo had included a TV-out, what is the most it would have cost them, £6? By including it it means Switch Lite owners would be able to have it be their home console and establish its place in front of the TV, without it are Nintendo hoping owners will upgrade to a home model? I suspect they know their consumers excellently and this fulfils a demand for younger and portable-only gamers.

Ah I’ve actually seen some pictures of it in people’s hands now and it’s really cute. I’ve never been much of one for aesthetics, and it won’t change any purchase decisions, but I like the look of it!

Can't wait to get this and switch between my Normal TV Switch and this one and carry on my saved game on Animal Crossing with cloud and the other games that don't actually allow cloud saving. :toot:

Not for me, tbh.

It's clearly not a product that will be attractive to any meaningful percentage of the current userbase.

This will simply be the console bundle version, designed to sell Pokemon and the console exclusives that people will pick up a whole system for.

I think they could have made it prettier. Maybe a razor thin version called the Switch Blade :shifty:

I normally can’t handle jokes like that, but Clarkman got his point across.

Now we've seen Nintendo have no problem making a switch that can't switch and is just a portable, I wonder if this rumoured more powerful one will end up being a tv only model. It could be a block like the dock but with just the guts of the switch in it for tv only, like the vita t.v. or whatever it was called.

With loads of incompatible games too just to complete the package.

That would be genuinely bobbins, having to choose between the Switch’s USP and playing it in bed and playing the games the way they’ll be intended - because let’s face it, several developers will be only too happy to aim their games at the beefier Switch and make fewer compromises.

Please make the Switch ad proposes. I couldn't give a strawberry float about the Feature Lite Switch, and I don't care about other people either. All in for a Docked only switch.

What games are portable only where there'd be loads of incompatible games?

I was referencing the Vita TV. Wasn't it notorious for a bunch of Vita exclusive games simply not working on it?

Would have bought one if they had no axed TV connectivity.

Yeah anything that used the rear touch pad as part of the main control method iirc.

I'd much rather have a Switch Pro. Hopefully that comes along as well.
If it does I might transfer everything over to it then factory reset and jailbreak my regular Switch.

I prefer to play Switch games on my TV, so it's a no from me.

Arse.

Absolutely not for me but looks like a decent bit of kit. Taking out the ability to connect to the tv seems a mistake but I suppose with the price point that basically would have made the Switch redundant for console gamers. Does kind of make the Switch seem mad expensive too, which it always was tbh, but this comparison doesn't help.

I'm annoyed because I'm holding out for a Switch Pro, but this maybe signals there won't be one for a while. And I'll be damned if I'm going to buy the thing for it to be obsolete the next day.

I doubt Nintendo have anything in place to make switching between two switches (lol) easy for a single person.

It's already in place. My account is on both of my Switches and cloud saves transfer between the two of them so I can switch between them.
