PostSwitching Energy Supplier: Bulb - £50 FREE Credit for Switching
by skarmachild » Mon Feb 18, 2019 7:29 pm

I hope this is okay, maybe I should've put it in the 'Trading' folder.

Basically - anyone who orders a free key from Bulb for there Gas & Electricity gets £50 free credit bunged into your account once you switch! Pretty nifty.

It's cheap and renewable energy as well as the free money for you and me.

Once you sign up you can then refer other people, netting you £50 each time and your friend a cool £50 as well just for switching!

Hope thats okay and we can get some sort of train going!

Heres my link for the sign up, thanks in advance: https://join.bulb.co.uk/?referral=benj0284 :toot: :toot:

Please bare in mind although it is cheap it is a variable tariff and so the energy charge could go up or down at any time. Just for information and to balance the thread.

Yeah, I've considered changing to bulb a few times now, but each time there's seemingly swathes of people saying that their prices shot up after one or two months.

How is everyone finding it after a few months?

I stick with bulb because they’re one of the cleanest energy suppliers and that is a big selling point for me.

Oh, I mean that if you go to the site you can 'order' a Gas Card and Electricity Meter 'Key' for your Leccy meter. I just pointed out 'free' in case people thought it cost to order.

Good to see feedback from people who have joined here - I've seen various other Energy companies offer referral credit like this, so if Bulb shoots up it's prices for leccy then I'll just move to someone else :D

The big six have all just announced price rises so I would expect Bulb to put theirs up soon as they are currently the cheapest on the market.

I'm with Avro as well. No hassle at all, no direct debit hikes, just submit my readings like any other half competent mofo and they leave me alone. I gave them figures bast on actual usage over the previous 12 months.

Took a year to leave EDF after they stuck us on a variable tariff without properly contacting us and left us with a ludicrous debt we have just finished paying off. Were paying about 40% more than we should have been.

Bear in mind some of the people saying their costs "shot up" with Bulb are just unaware of their usage or gave conservative estimates when signing up so their direct debits were set too low. Bulb is cheap, but that doesn't mean they will work out that way compared to the competition over 12 months.

Anyway, the £50 credit in the first year can cover the difference, so it's not a bad choice, but most people I reckon associate "cheap" with fixed energy tariffs so it's important to be aware of that.

Richard Herring is always getting people to sign up using his referral code. He must have had literally thousands of pounds of free energy.

Man I wish I was good at convincing people, about a month ago I tried to get everyone to sign up cause they were doing 100 quid referral credit instead.

I will paypal anyone 2pound if you sign up with my link. Literally free money. Literally cutting me own throat.

I'm considering switching at the moment. I have a key meter for my electric and nPower have been nothing but a massive pain since I moved here 18 months ago and had a key meter put in.

Use the cheap energy club. It’ll do all your comparisons for you and email you when your current contract is due to end (if it has an end). All you have to do is update your current provider and tariff as and when you switch

Just about to post this as I had an email saying my gas unit rate was going down. Good move considering the big names have jumped their prices up substantially recently.
