The Daily Mail is worse than a tabloid as far as i'm concerned. It's a paper that charges more and pretends it's actually a proper creditable news source, when it's almost always worse than the tabloids that at least usually contain some humour and don't try and rise above their station. I used to read all the tabloids on my lunch breaks when i worked in retail (they would only buy the tabloids for the staff canteen) and the Mail was by far the worst.

The Daily Spurt is always quite entertaining.

I do think people need to drop the word 'news' from 'newspaper' when talking about The Sun, Mirror, Mail etc...

Who in their right mind loves the tabloids? The only good thing about them is, they take pervy pics, so I don't have to.

Are you sure ???

It has its bias but at least it's not a populist rag and sticks to its guns. Considering I don't hold much interest in politics, I prefer the topics The Guardian chooses to report otherwise. It's better written (amusing spelling mistakes aside), has some good supplements (Observer Music Monthly, their music/film stuff in general is pretty good, G2 and its crossword) and I find it a decent read.

I don't take much of what is reported as gospel (as one shouldn't without doing the proper research first), but I find their editorial better than that of other papers.

You also have to take into account the fact I'm one of those liberalist fools everyone hates.

Hey, Charles, there ain't nothing wrong with being one of those liberalist fools ! Just not sure the Guardian is the paper that speaks for them ! Last time I read the Guardian it seemed to be appealing to a socialist world long discredited - a bit sad really. More to the point it never sees the point in anything - its like the eternal eyeore - enjoy a drink of red wine and its bound to have been produced by some oppressed commune in deepest south africa. Guilt trips all around !±!

I'd like to point out that that should have read 'fun in anything' and 'deepest south america', (or even chile) - warning kids - don't drink too much red wine, beer, brandy - you may not get your worms right...

I don't really read the papers, but I do enjoy an occasional Independent from time to time, I like how it reports more world news

We don't get that here.

A lot of the Irish Independents match reports are taken from there and their GAA coverage is easily the best so you get the best of both worlds really.

Ireland. Some newsagents do get it but I have never bought it. I do sometimes get the Guardian on Thursdays because of their tech supplement and to support the Football Weekly podcast.

I don't particularly like them, to be honest. My parents get the Daily Mail, which I usually glance through to see what they're moaning about. My sister occasionally gets a free copy of The Independent, which I prefer reading, but that's as far as my newspaper reading gets.

My mum gets the daily hate mail.

Generally quite bored of papers though. Even the sport sections really, after a while it's sort of just.. I don't really care what Carrick thinks of United's chances this year, and I doubt he cares all that much either.

I hate them, I understand why people like reading them as it's all pretty trashy and doesn't really have anything to do with news, but it's still just hate mongering half the time, and it's really sad when people take it as truth.

I enjoy reading them for entertainment value but taking anything they say seriously (lik the majority of people do) is never a good idea, rarely does more crap get spouted.

I like The Times for its sport section, I think its a bit more indepth and knowledgeable.

I think The Sun sucks at sport it just has rubish like "Rio tinks united are stronger than last year" - I don't see stuff like that as news, its kind of obvious he will think like that!

Plus I like the times football podcast!!!

Tabloids are rubbish - just comics for people who would read the Beano if it had tits in it.
