Maybe he's decided to become the change he wants to see in the world.

Maybe he thinks you can't change the system from without, only within.

Maybe the next AC game is gonna be set during the Salem Witch Trials and he wants to make sure the game is clear that they were bad.

Who knows.

Some pretty boring posts in this topic; If anyone were following Taf's struggles in the world of writing for games and sticking at the pretty awful working conditions and grit required to persevere as an independent writer, it's fair to recognise this. This is a massive leap - and yes, the world is not black and white, and it is possible to simultaneously recognise achievement and whatever other opinions they said some time (even if incongruous (and I'm not saying it is, that's a hypothesis). Otherwise, we simply expect the world to mechanically click together according our moral compass, and as noble as that may be, it is also at worst deluded. At least in the context of some forum shite. Almost everything in life comes down to some kind of compromise whether we admit it or not, and life's goal perhaps is to lessen the gap between what we want and what we have. But also, it's not all about you.

I don’t think anyone was having a serious go at him. I mean, it is a little rich given some of the scorn he’s dished out from his soapbox over the years but that’s it, and yea there’s a thousand reasons why he could have made the decision.

I was only being half facetious in suggesting that maybe he does genuinely think this a position where he’ll be able to make the exact difference he’s been striving for. Or maybe it’s just cold hard cash - not everyone is always in a financial position to make every decision 100% according to their personal code. Bills are equal opportunity.

Anyway good luck to him.

It's a bit funny that his last post here was criticising Ubisoft for their political stance.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Might be good idea if someone gets rid of the posts on his account, if that is possible.

Surely that should be left up to Taf to decide

Doesn't look like he's coming back anytime soon, but I get what you are saying.

He logged in today by all accounts so I think he's more than capable of taking action himself or requesting something be done if necessary

He's still got plenty of anti-Ubisoft tweets, so I'd say it's up to him.

That was some bad pre caffeine grammar in my original unedited post. Ahh yes to be 17 again with no social life. :D Every man and their dog had a spin off forum in 2006.
