Tales of the Shire - Hobbits are back on the consoles & PC in 2024

Not much out there information wise, but its been described as a cosy game, focusing on the shire and hobbits, so hopefully its a mix of life sim games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley (despite the fact I couldn't get on with that at all due to how quick the days flew by in it, the actual idea of the game was great, if I could have made time go a lot slower I'd have probably loved it), great to see Weta Workshop involved in this as well, I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this, it could be a wonderful take on a LOTR and life sim game :wub:

Still down for a 2024 release too, looks ok at this point, gameplay loop looks as we've come to expect from a cosy farming sim type game,

I don't get on with a lot of cosy games, and the last LOTR game I was looking forward to turned out to be a massive flop, but with Weta involved this feels like it should hit a pretty decent quality standard, and I'd love a hobbitcore simulator, so provisionally very excited about this.

I don't think cosy media is for me.

I hate the art style, and the animation. It gives me serious freemium mobile game vibes all the way through.

Having watched the trailer a couple more times (I'd not actually watched it properly before I'd posted it, just kind of got the gist of the gameplay loop and saw elsewhere it said 2024 :fp:

Was a straight to GRcade moment), I have to agree with you slightly, the animations particularly are poor, don't mind the art style myself, but I'm hoping this is early footage and there will have been improvements since, but then why release such early gameplay as peoples first proper look at the game? I want to still be excited for this, but there is definitely some more caution in there now.

It'll probably sell reasonably well, I'll probably still end up buying it anyway, but I feel it could have looked better in the trailer..... Time will tell I suppose.

I'll be keeping an eye on this.

So this is basically an animal crossing hobbit game?

Definitely a blend between Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, I’m still really hoping you don’t feel as pressured for time in this as in Stardew though (though feels like I’m one of the few who felt that way about it), living in Hobbiton should be a relaxing experience rather than one where you’re constantly rushing around (to start with at least) to get as much done each day.
