There's going to be a one-off Christmas special featuring five people from the worlds of TV, film, radio, journalism, and shiny floor entertainment.

It's been revealed that Channel 4 will air a Christmas special of Taskmaster this December featuring "five brand new faces".

The channel says: "Fans will get a festive treat as Alex Horne's BAFTA winning show will return with a one-off Taskmaster festive special on Channel 4. The news arrives as Series 10 of the hit comedy entertainment show enjoyed its best performance on record with its premiere in its brand-new primetime slot.

"For the first time ever, the Task Cottage doors will be flung open to welcome five brand new faces from the worlds of TV, film, radio, journalism, and shiny floor entertainment, as the almighty Greg Davies sets ludicrous challenges with his Little Assistant scuttling in tow for this one-off festive special. Our well-known contestants are experts in their respective fields, and will be revealed in due course, but how will they compare in the most hard fought, high stakes, ridiculous game show on television?"

The line-up for the special has not yet been revealed. Some fans have speculated it will involve the champions of the previous five series, as UKTV aired a Champions Of Champions special after five series, and after Series 10 there'll be another five winners. However, a spokesperson for production company Avalon confirmed to British Comedy Guide "the contestants featuring in the new festive show have never done Taskmaster before."

The winner of Series 10 - which features Daisy May Cooper, Johnny Vegas, Katherine Parkinson, Mawaan Rizwan and Richard Herring - will be revealed on 17th December. The festive special is expected to air sometime in the week after that.

There aren't any weak links this series, every one of them is hilarious in their own way.

This week’s episode was one of the finest I’ve seen across all ten seasons. We were actually in tears by the time the hippo incident went down. :lol:

Loved the final task this week.

Other than the final task I thought that was a pretty weak episode.

Daisy is fast becoming a favourite though due to how short her fuse is.

Not the best episode. Final task was funny though.

Loved Mawaan saying he never played with marbles because he had a PS1. And I think I want to marry Katherine, she’s so delightful.

Highlights were in the final task - Greg being surprised at his own elephant impression, and Richard being given something as easy as chicken after the others had struggled.

Weakest episode so far this series, but still had me laughing. The final task was great.

I love how much Daisy seems to absolutely loathe Richard :lol:
