To be fair they were all pretty awful. His was at least better than the plastic cup and the seven year old’s gooseberry fool pottery, and probably the generic “Simon” mug too.

The task was "best drinking vessel". A very badly carved wooden spoon is not a better drinking vessel than a plastic cup, mug or tankard. It should have been joint last with the gooseberry fool pottery.
The wording of the task is always open to interpretation, though, so long as it's creative/funny enough. 'Best' in the most literal sense would obviously be the tankard or the cup, but where's the fun in that?
Yeah the spoon came joint second with the pottery, rightly ahead of the no-effort mug and plastic drinking cup. I agree that Wozniak is favoured, but bringing a strawberry floating plastic cup to a prize task man, it is so lazy.
