I thought series 8 overall was excellent. Iain sterling was strawberry floating annoying whilst occasionally entertaining but lou, sian and at times Joe were great contestants. It also featured some really fun tasks.
Junior Taskmaster sounds like a dreadful idea. I imagine it as a bunch of overconfident, precocious brats, only TM won't be allowed to be nasty to them because children have to be protected. Maybe it'll just be Alex without Greg. That would probably work better. But I'd rather see The Button come back instead, like it was meant to.
It won't be either Alex or Greg - the below is from the press release in one of the links.
Alex Horne, the show's creator, says: "I've watched many, many comedians flounder when given simple instructions over the past few years and I fully expect the competitors in Junior Taskmaster to be both more competent and just as funny. For that series, I will be handing over my assistant's clipboard to someone equally as efficient and persistent as myself because I have a lot more admin to do with six further handfuls of supposedly talented adults. I live for bureaucracy so this is all excellent news".
Greg Davies, the original Taskmaster, comments: "My long-term contempt for young people is a matter of record but other people here at Taskmaster HQ seem convinced that they have merit. I am thrilled that two new team members are putting this questionable hypothesis to the test and will take on the challenge of corralling and assessing them on television. I will be watching closely to ensure standards are met. I am also delighted that Alex and I return to test the intelligence of comedians in the most scientific of ways. I'll be pretty angry. It's not even an act anymore."
That’s a relief. I’ve read that Harry Hill is good at getting kids to relax on the Junior Bake Off, and with his penchant for silliness he’d be a great fit for this.
Yay, more Taskmaster! This thread got me into the program and I caught up with all episodes within the space of a few months. I'm not really sold on the junior version, but I'll definitely be watching the new proper series!
Junior TM is something I'd try to watch with my five year old son. He's too young for the adult comedy of TM (not a swearing thing but a complexity thing) so something a bit more accessible might be a great thing to watch as a family.

You should try The Button. Very much a family Taskmaster (and created by the same people). It was meant to return for another series, but that never happened. Shame, because it would have been the perfect show for lockdown.

He should have waited, but I bet he couldn't imagine that Kiell would respond so quickly and accurately
Jenny in the boat was great as well, hard to believe somebody can crash that often.
