Society can be so soft about racism. Never speaking up about it 'cus it's accepted as the norm. And pretty much... it unfortunately is. Too many people set with their own views, not ever considering alternate views, and parading those views without a care in the world. Raising a fuss about it was better than ignoring it. It was the right thing. To anyone else who was sat around in that pub, though, you were raising a fuss about nothing purely because of how common such views are instilled in the general public, or not their problem. Nothing else you could have done while there, but that review should hopefully get the place's attention.

So ended up speaking to the manager of the pub today who couldn't apologise enough about our experience last night. He insisted that the member of staff who was dealing with us yesterday was completely wrong and the behaviour of the group was completely unacceptable, that we should never have been asked to move and that after having ignored a warning the group loudly swearing and being racist should have been told to leave.

Edit - On a slightly lighter note, my brother, his wife and my niece are having to self-isolate at the moment due to getting told by Track and Trace, so my brother has asked me to drop a few things off at their house. My niece (who is 5 years old) has explicitly requested some smoked salmon :lol:

Well, that's some good come from the situation. An apology from the manager and learning that your niece is going to turn out more upper class than yourself.
