Looking forward to the ironic McDoNaLdS rebrand. They're already a third of the way there anyway.

Don't you mean McDnlds?!

How long before (more) brands adopt just a logo and no name.

Now TV rebranding as just Now is amusing because their web address is still NowTV.com, with Now.com and now.co.uk sending you to completely unrelated subjects. "Now" is so ubiquitous you could be speaking about anything. The "TV" part is the all important distinction.

If you want to see the greatest rebrand of all time, spend a few minutes checking this out: https://www.goldennumber.net/wp-content ... 021109.pdf

It cost Pepsi $1 million for the new logo. Featuring Taoism, the Mona Lisa, and Pepsi DNA to come out with... a slightly different looking shape.

Edit: I forgot how bad this was  Arnell Group was absolutely taking the piss for a million dollars. The penultimate page has the 'gravitational pull of pepsi'.

Wow, now I know why I love Pepsi Max so much, it's because when I look at the logo I see that the "Symmetrical energy fields are in balance" and man those Pepsi Globe Dynamics are really something, I can feel the "emotive forces shape the gestalt of the brand entitiy"! :toot:

Christ I can't stand all that shite. I guarantee you 90% of that logo was already done on a board of about 20 options, then they retroactively gave it importance.

Seen that Pepsi thing before. It's when it gets to the odd faces that you imagine someone should have intervened.

I love that they devote nearly 10 pages to someone just drawing circles over old logos!

It's to pad out the presentation and give someone something to talk about for 10 minutes. They want to see all that bollocks, be confused by it and come out of a meeting thinking their money is well spent because "they clearly know what they're doing". It wouldn't be as well received if they said, "well Dave sat and spent the morning playing with the original logo in illustrator and came up with a load of initial options, and we liked option 12 so rotated it 15 degrees anti clockwise to make sure it immediately looked different. We then spent 3 months putting this pdf together with made up backstory"

So gentlemen, nostalgia..."

So cynical. Looks like someone needs to emotilize their ethos, reflect on their DNA and leverage their unique brand history to create a new trajectory and embrace the future!

100%. Especially when you're charging insane amounts, you actually need all that surrounding bollocks. It's totally unacceptable to charge a huge figure then show one slide with the new logo and how it looks on the can.

I can't decide whether that's one of the worst things I've ever seen or whether I actually love it as some unhinged alternate comedy.

Made a poster for an online friends birthday party, posted it on twitter with a nice message and find out that I got his strawberry floating age wrong.

Its like making a gif for a forum thread with a bunch of typos.

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

Oh wow, that is the biggest load of self-fellating wankery I have ever read. And I've been on GRcade for years.
