This is relatable - it's the cyberpunk 2020s, I'm supposed to have a robot body now :x

To use a phrase of your own - this but unironically

My ideal state of being would be as an unsleeping, asexual thinking robot powered by nuclear fusion - and on that level I can relate completely to the woman KK saw in sainsbury's buying pasta sauce.

Yes, I too would love to escape the confines of my faulty, mortal body.

I'd prefer being a cyborg to a full on robot though.

Depends how good you are cooking....

Git gud :P

Same. I genuinely think I would struggle to name many things in life which I think are better than eating some amazing food.

There is obviously a time investment required, but the benefits outweigh the costs in my opinion. I may spend a couple of hours cooking over the course of a week, but I get a tasty and well rounded diet out of it which I'm convinced I wouldn't achieve if I took the shortcut approach more often!

This is why I like to combine cooking and watching TV - I usually have one or two nights in the week where I spend about 45 minutes to an hour batch cooking a whole load of stuff for the rest of the week whilst I watch an episode or two of whichever show I'm into at the moment. For me it's also a surprisingly effective way of winding down and de-stressing after a busy day, I often feel much more chilled out than afterwards when compared to doing something like just jumping straight onto a computer game of an evening.

When I say I don't have time, my days generally go like this:

6-8am - spend time with my daughter
8am-6pm - work
6-8pm - spend time with wife (three nights a week)
8pm-11pm - revision/coursework (6pm-11pm 4 nights a week)

Well looks like you don't have a problem because you never eat either way! :toot:

But yeah I appreciate the position, I have very little free time myself - but I value the benefits that properly cooking my own meals bring so where possible I will always try to make space for doing it. I don't always succeed though, and none of what I'm saying is intended to be judgemental of anyone who can't or doesn't do the same!

I'd agree that there's nothing better than cooking and being well rewarded with the taste of something lovely upon finishing, but it really makes no difference if you can't taste anything anyway. Besides, I always find some way to mess it up.

Just heard that one of my cousins (well, 2nd cousin) was being stalked and harassed by a guy she worked with so reported it to her boss and they sacked him (other female staff had also reported it).

A few days ago one of her female colleagues told her she was still being harassed by him and was worried because he'd found out where her horse was stabled and kept turning up when she was there.

The female colleague was discovered dead this morning, my cousin has given a statement to the police confirming that she was being stalked by the guy.

Its bloody scary to think about.

Think shes just in shock (understandedly) at the moment.

The police have now apparently arrested the guy.

That's horrendous. Stalking and harassment seems like such a difficult crime to deal with, it's tragic that it often only ends when it escalates. Must be awful to deal with anyway but especially when the warning signs were there.

On to a completely different subject, my wireless earbuds have decided to become hearing aids.

Just had them randomly lose bluetooth connection then come back on with the right one working as normal but the left was basically amplifying every noise going on in the house at deafening volume.

Tried resetting them but that hasn't sorted it so will probably spend this evening troubleshooting the issue.
