Is he in your own personal space? You'd think that if he's blocking someone's only-for-them space that it'd be a case of getting in touch with the landlords or whoever owns the car park and getting them to do their job and actually enforce the "this space is for this person and this person only" rule, but that's probably unlikely to happen

Alright yeah sure if they're taking up a singular allocated space then they're taking the piss. Even then if it's not actually being used by the resident overnight I revert back to not really being that bothered until they're blocking the regular occupant from parking and refusing to move.

What if he’s dealing drugs out of his van, bringing loads of dodgepots to Jawa’s doorstep? Some toerag eyes up some of the flats, maybe Jawa’s…boom, breaks in.

Yes; if someone was parking/living on public land then I would have no problem with that. If someone is parking/living on my (our) private land, I do have a problem with that.

The guy may have problems and need a bit of support. Perhaps he is laying injured in the back of the van and needs medical attention. Maybe he is undertaking a sit-in in support of anti-capitalism movements. Equally, perhaps he is setting up a fascist HQ. As he has been there for four days and won't communicate, the first step is to contact the police and they can determine what help may be required, whether he is allowed to park and live in someone's car park and then the way forward.

There's a chance he could be breeding wasps and parakeets, before he inevitably creates a wasp parakeet hybrid.

Doing a bit of digging online, it seems that:

> The police might not wanna know; trespass is a civil matter although they can move people on.
> The council are unlikely to do much as it's not an abandoned vehicle; someone is living in it.
> The way forward is through a civil eviction process via the courts; which takes a lot of time and a fair amount of money. Maybe the guy is a pro and knows this.

Perhaps I could arrange for a few heavies to "encourage" the guy to leave.
