You should have seen the expression on my face when those first few piano notes hit. I had gotten so absorbed in the concert (and simultaneously distracted by there not being enough Once Upon a Time in the West) that I had completely forgotten about Cinema Paradiso, so I was properly floored emotionally.

Next there's Joe Hisaishi performing his Ghibli music in May. I'll probably be the one person desperately wanting to hear Tale of the Princess Kaguya over anything else.

It was pleasant enough, if rather...small. Even adding a samosa I felt unfulfilled. Thankfully a cup of tea and 3 Mr Kipling lemon slices soon sorted that out.

I’m not sure I’ve ever been moved to tears by any kind of music, art, cinema, etc and I feel like I’m really missing out. Like, I appreciate the greatness of the formats and I love taking in a concert or a movie, but it seems that I am a cold, dead hearted individual. :slol:

It doesn't happen often but occasionally something will. Up was one the first time I watched it. Les Mis (when at the actual show) does a bit too.

I’m the same. The only time in recent memory where a movie caused me to have tears in my eyes was because the subject matter was very close to something that happened in real life.

You must have seen Marley and Me? It's basically Loki. You'll be ruined. Ruined.

Mail Online a little bit irked that a browser plugin calls them out for shoddy journalism.

I have but it was pre-Loki, I haven't dared try again since we got him. :slol:

I cry tears of joy and sadness from music a lot. Especially at the opera.
I'm moved by a lot of film too.

Yet real life suffering and tragedy - not at all.

That's because real life doesn't allow for a maximum effect of audio-visual data to achieve a desired emotion.

So I'll start caring about the homeless if there's a busker there, too?

If it's raining, everyone's sad, the busker's playing a slow, mournful tune, and then when you approach, the homeless man starts crying, the rain intensifies, and the tune the busker's playing reaches it's peak, then you can start caring.
