Happens every year unfortunately, ridiculously dangerous race:

9 fatalities in 2005!

And all in different places as well, pretty insane.

Has anyone else had random videos appear in their YouTube watch history? I've got about 10 "all cutscenes from X game" videos, none of which I've watched or searched for or even seen in my recommended list, they just appear seemingly at random, sometimes in between videos that I've been watching. I think my YouTube has ghosts and/or AIDS :(

It's National Fish and Chips Day here in the UK! I haven't had this meal for years - mainly because I'm not a fan of the increasing trend to make the batter about two foot thick - but I think I'll give it a go today :-).

You need to find better chip shops.

I think I may have; there is a chippie near me that I think of as being new (even though it has been open for about three years!) and I think I could visit and try it out.

Good plan, you should come back to Hastings and go down to some of the ones here, the best one's (The LifeBoat and The Cod Father) do an outstanding job, but its a seaside town it is almost a law they aren't to strawberry float it up :D

Hastings  . Such a cool place. I don't often get to the coast but I always enjoy my trips there. I recall eating in Pam's Cafe, plus that new-ish, modern cafe "block" on the sea front... and in the Weatherspoons (which always seems to be packed!).

Never been in Pam's it always look a bit grim, I tend to ignore the whole of the main town except for Borough Wines which is a great place for picking up some cool beers.

There are some awesome places nearly the old down, The Pelican and Old Custom House are meant to be awesome, the The Jolly Fisherman is a tiny and one of my all time favourite pubs.

Sounds like it's just started to autoplay a suggested video at the end of the one you were watching.

I thought that but I've had autoplay off for ages, and the videos have no link to the ones I'm actually watching. It's just all very strange and clear evidence of a supernatural goblin that lives in my phone.

 . Yeah, it is rather, uhm... "basic". The folks I go with like it, though, and the food itself is fine :) .

I love that Hastings has places easily accessible through a short walk; you can move from the beach to the new town to the old town and up to the cliff walk in a relative snap. Like everywhere, it has it's good and not-so-good bits but I like the vibe. Fresh air, places to walk... it's a nice change from living in the more hectic and packed environments of London!

Tis good, its something I think I take for granted living here, I very rarely go to the beach, more now that last year as Moo loves it down there. I couldn't bear living in London and stuff I dont think, not because its busy but I just dont think I could be that inland, the air feels all still and you feel surrounded.

The Youtube mobile app has gone to utter gooseberry fool lately.

All my videos now are unwatchable for the last 10 seconds since the screen just gets filled with suggested video thumbnails that are ontop of the actual video I'm watching, and I can't find any way to turn them off.

Yeah that really annoys me too, load of crap. Only positive I've had is installing an adblocker so I don't have to endure the wretched adverts littered throughout most videos :toot:

I've always lived in a "suburbs" area of London but, for me, it does feel as if it has gotten far busier / hectic over the past decade or so. I dunno... it just seems more "aggressive". It's not that "flash" an area in terms of the quality of housing but they still cost a fortune now. It's nice to have relatively easy (albeit stupidly packed!) access to central London but, as I get older, I do find myself wondering if I'd rather live elsewhere. I don't drive, though, and London is pretty good for public transport (if only for quantity rather than quality :) ).

My DVD player has stopped working :( . It powers up and the disc drawer opens, but something "flaps around" inside when it is trying to read the disc and it doesn't recognise it.

I've only ever bought this one DVD player. It's a Sony and I got it in 2001 so, with seventeen years service, I can't really gripe about the quality I guess :-). I am a bit sad, though, as I love the look of it; it's very well made.
