I've only ever bought this one DVD player. It's a Sony and I got it in 2001 so, with seventeen years service, I can't really gripe about the quality I guess :-). I am a bit sad, though, as I love the look of it; it's very well made.

Dont you have a playstation and a wii u that can both do DVDs ?

Yeah, I guess I should switch to HD-DVD.

I have got a Blu-ray player. That's "only" ten years old 8-) .

Now, children, here we have an antique "DVD" player, circa 2001. It was found among the rubble of a collapsed block of flats, and has been perfectly preserved in a coating of wasp-enhanced blu-tac. Fascinating.

In my living room I just have a Wii / Wii U setup and they can't play DVDs.

I do have a Blu-Ray player but I much preferred playing DVDs on my original player. Gonna have to change that approach now, I guess.

In what we think was the adjoining room of this flat, archeologists also discovered the skeleton of a middle-aged man, who was clutching what our experts consider to be some form of rudimentary "noise log". It's thought this man, whoever he was, had a fetish for noisy neighbours and would often record and log their noise activities for his own sexual amusement.

Possibly, dude, but I only have a 26" 720p screen. I just liked the old player... gotta try and get over this sadness.

Almost right. I keep the noise log because a couple of GRcadians asked me to send it to them. I believe that they (ahem) "enjoy it".

It was all quiet this morning and then neighbour-bloke started playing loud music... but only for twenty minutes and now they've all gone out :toot: .

Anyone having problems with their VISA card today? Thankfully I always carry backups in a bit of cash and a PayPal MasterCard (which has also failed me in the past).

Bought a copy of Batman Ninja from Tesco last week but only just got around to going to watch it. I've only now noticed that Tesco have left in the red filler cap in the Blu-Ray case that stops people from opening it up on the shop floor to steal the contents :fp:
Have to hope I've still got the receipt so I can go in and ask them to remove it.

They opened a Papa Johns near me a month ago, I got some a few weeks back, overall not very impressed. Not awful pizza, but not very good either.

I'm not a fan of dominos, I tend to go to a local business that does awesome pizzas or Papa John's if I want takeaway. Asda do great fresh pizzas for 4 quid so that's the most common for me to get because why pay more.

What the strawberry float is Donatos? Is that like some kind of social experiment where people "donate" you a pizza?!

Only had Papa John's once and it was rank, proper Jim Belushi levels of quality.

I think in reality the quality of chain pizzas differs depending on where you live and who is cooking and delivering it. My Papa Johns is fine now but was really bad for a number of years when they launched. Pizza Hut has gone so far downhill you’ll be lucky if the pizza even turns up.

All the side orders are a complete waste of money and I now avoid them. From Pizza Hut’s supermarket garlic bread slices to everyone’s soggy or undercooked potato wedges, why bother. Pizza Hut are so lazy their dips are just Heinz. Though I’d still take that over Papa John’s garlic abomination (which the Americans LOVE, bizarrely).
