I enjoyed it, but fully expect people to hate it.

Again I haven't seen it, but the reaction on Twitter (at least on my timeline) has been visceral. Pretty much unmitigated hate.

I'm looking forward to watching it just to see how bad it is .

It's all downloaded and ready for the hate watch!

It's genuinely become a highlight of my week, watching this thing slide into the mud. Like, the show I love ended 2 seasons ago, so this is a bit like watching Mrs Brown's Boys with swords.

This season of GoT appears to be Lost S6 levels of bad.

I think I mentioned in the thread that it's reminding me a lost of LOST in that the showrunners simply don't know how to end any of the plot threads.

This series of GoT has just been the "Jacks Tattoo" episode, but x5 so far.

The thing is Lost wasn't planned past the pilot. They made it up as they went along. It was always going to be a struggle to tie it all together especially in a way that nobody had guessed.

This is based on source material that has been carefully planned out by an author. It shouldn't have the issues Lost had. I know the books aren't completed but do they not have GRR Martin involved? If not, why not?

It is still genuinely upsetting how poor series 6 of Lost was. I did enjoy the very end, but that is probably because of how much I loved the show between series 1-5. The main content of series 6 was truly awful. Literally just walking around the island and utterly destroying the until then intensely interesting character of Jacob.

Game of Thrones is different for me. It's like watching a massive car crash where the people inside are only dummies, so you can enjoy the fascination of the destruction. It's probably because I never loved it anyway.

Oh, definitely, Ob. I hugely enjoyed seasons 1-5 but 6 was disappointing and forgettable.

I gave up on Lost some point mid season 2, it clearly didn't know what it was doing and there's only so long you can put up with that!
