BBC news just showed a group of vegans in the street holding laptops with VEGAN on the screens. They were wearing anonymous guy fawned masks    Oh and they want people to stop saying "kill two birds with wun stone" and instead say "feed two birds with wun scwun". :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp: :fp:

Also, scwuns expand in their stomach which can make them ill and the crumbs encourage rats which eat the babies, so really the scwun thing is so much worse.

Ella's grandparents on her dads side are vegan, her nan just started a vegan cake business. I thought the cakes should be dry and horrible but they're really nice cakes.

The only thing now is that they're kind of messing with ella's head a bit. They take her to vegan "rallies" which is really them on the high street telling people that eating meat is wrong. She's come home a few times pretty confused as to what her diet should be. It's lucky for her that they only see her once a month now (their decision due to health reasons).

But veganism is super healthy so how can they have health issues.

Her grandad keeps having problems with his pancreas, something about dark slime in it or something that keeps occurring.

I think from an ethical standpoint, veganism's definitely the way forward. strawberry float actually doing it though.

What I would be interested to see is the difference in carbon etc for a local diet (say buying from your county seasonally) compared to veganism that seems to be foods from all over the world and so have massive transportation costs

Livestock is a massive contributor to greenhouse gases so not sure the local aspect would make much of an impact.

I can imagine it's quite infuriating to be a normal, easy-going vegan, getting dragged down by the actions of others.

Can I ask opinions on how something works?

Let's say 10 booked a meal for £10 deposit each at a restaurant.

8 people cancel but 2 still go.

The 2 peoples bill comes to £90.

Would that mean there's nothing further to pay, but the extra £10 is "lost", since the restaurant already received £100
Or
There's £70 still to pay for their meal after their 2 deposits? (with the other 8 deposits being written off)

(I've made up the numbers to better illustrate. It's a real situation at work right now. I'm sure it'd be the later, but the event organised is convinced it's the former. We're not phoning the restaurant and asking because "it's obvious and there's no need!"...)

I'd say the former.
