So, about a month ago my fancy earphones had a little issue. There was a hairline crack in the ceramic casing on one of the earpieces. I went on the website chat bit and they asked me to send them to them (they still had a month of warranty left). So I receive notification that they've shipped a parcel back to me.
It arrived this morning. It's not my originals that have been repaired. Its not a replacement set of 600 quid Ie800. It's a brand new pair of £870 IE800s. The upgrades.

I think their review is pretty much the only one that says they're not an improvement. Are they 270 quid better? Arguable but since the point is I havent paid anything it's moot.

For that kind of money those things would need to literally strawberry float me in the ears for it to be worthwhile!

I love a good set of headphones as much as the next person but diminishing returns kick in quite a way before you get to that kind of money in my view. On the other hand if people want and can afford very expensive headphones and truly appreciate the difference that they bring then who am I to question it!

Yeah, it seems a bit odd to me as well. I mean, for studio quality overears sure, but I can't imagine what type of sound ear-plug types could make that'd make them worth that much.

But, horses for courses.

And here I was quite satisfied with my free pair from T3 magazine (SoundMagic E11c, which retail for around £45 I believe).

But then I was chuffed with my £10 Sony ones prior to that as well. :slol:

My £80 Bose sports in-ears are more than OK. I also have a pair of PSB M4U's for gaming too (which were about £300).

I went from a pair of SoundMagic in-ear phones which were about £30, to a pair of wireless over-ear Marshall bluetooth headphones that cost about £170. Can't say I've noticed much difference in audio quality, but they're more comfortable and don't make my ears feel waxy. Plus they look pretty cool, I even get compliments about them, which is mightily embarrassing :slol:

I do love the design of Beats more than any other, but the sound quality doesn’t deliver as it should considering the price.

My in-ear BeatsX are bloody great. It's a shame the battery doesn't last longer but that's understandable given that they're tiny.

Literally only bought my Beats because they had Mickey Mouse on them. I am part of the problem.
