It's sunny in Northern Ireland. Makes up for all the banana splits I guess.

Train to Edinburgh has been terminated at Newcastle as someone has been struck by a train further North which has completely blocked the line in both directions :(

Looks like I got really lucky with my flat. My neighbour can hear nearly everything happening above him (even things like a light switch being flicked on/off or a mug being put down on a table). I don't seem to have that problem, but damn I feel sorry for him.

Thankfully no. I live across the hall from him.

Got a spot of good news today - my book proposal is being sent out to peer review, so we’re in stage two of the process. The editor seems really enthusiastic about it, and followed Loki on Instagram, so I’m taking this as a good sign.

On the other hand, if I met you, and hated you with every fibre of my being, I’d still follow Loki on Instagram....

but seriously, congrats :toot:

Well done Professor Book-Boffin, I trust there'll be some Da Vinci code shenanigans in the main body of your book that points people to the forum to boost our membership numbers.

It’s called “The Dogs of Instagram” but it’s about 1950s America with a focus on the anti-communism polices of McCarthy.

The 75-year-old man died a painful death on the large green table.

It was sad.

Without going into detail, it's comparing and contrasting the media management strategies of two US presidents, and re-evaluating their relationships with technology and the mass media, as both of my subjects took office during eras of fairly rapid technological advancement and changes in the way that the media and the presidency interacts. I'm making the argument that despite what it might look like, neither man was able to adapt their style of media management to the office they found themselves in.

So yeah, err, interesting. :slol:
