Saw this yesterday and I'm still angry about it. Rich white person discovers the concept of a hostel, calls it a pod-space and ramps up the price a thousand fold. The Martin Shkreli of accommodation.

Arch-capitalism couched in the trappings of benevolent socialism is my new rage trigger.

EDIT: Just checked the founder's twitter feed. Of course she's positioning herself as a crusader against the absurdity of modern rent prices and the extortion of the housing market. Of course she is.

Yes, good. Channel the spirit of Mao.

Even Adam Smith thought landlording was bad. He didn't see it as a valid form of capitalism because it didn't produce anything. I think it says it all that even the "Father of Capitalism" would have been pretty disgusted with 2019.

It's that she specifically references the USSR as a model too.

Coincidentally I just downloaded a copy of the Communist Manifesto so I guess that's my holiday reading.

A guy I went to school with almost randomly got in to that kind of fighting, and now is pro at it. He's utterly terrifying now :dread:

I've always said that if I won the lottery, I'd make a Rex spin off movie.

Best bit of the film for me

Though there's so many good bits.

Wanted to buy a presentation clicker today, and saw the logitech spotlight. Looks really swish but they want £119.00 quid for it :dread: was expecting maybe £40 - £50 but not that much.

Have seen some videos of it and it does look smart ( the magnification and spotlight features do look cool) but cant justify the cost atm.

Got a different logitech one for £30 which will do the job.

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

So I alluded to this in last weeks weekend plans thread.

At work last week after a disagreement over a trivial issue - one of my patients decided to get me in trouble by reporting to the police that i'd raped her. Due to safeguarding issue and protecting vulnerable adults I then had to be moved from my ward. Temporarily there and then and now more permanently. She retracted this the following day but I still had to write statements and endure a hell of a lot of stress and aggro. Pretty dreadful experience all round. Work were very supportive but they also have to be seen to be protecting the patient. It's been awful. Done with utter malice and no thought for the serious consequences it would cause. Just very angry at the moment and very sad to have to stop working with the staff and patients on that ward.

Bloody hell!
I'm glad to hear she retracted the accusation and admitted to it being made up, can't imagine what would've happened if she hadn't.

It's been pretty hard to deal with. I've been referred to staff counselling. I'll be OK but it's just a real smack in the face.
