Sorry mate, that’s a pretty grim experience. Hope everyone’s alright and that they catch the thieves mate. Leaves you feeling quite violated when something like that happens so close.

On a similar, but also completely unrelated note I remember coming home from the pub one night to find fire engines surrounding my mum’s (terraced) house. Her next door neighbours had split up and the guy had decided to listen to November Rain non-stop for eight hours, get tanked up, then set fire to the house. :slol:

Don't think they got anything, it seems like they were disturbed not long after getting in.

We also now suspect that there was a car parked up on the road outside that was involved. Nobody nearby knew whose it was, and it disappeared shortly after the incident, and before the police arrived. There a house the other side of the burgled one that has CCTV, so they might have picked up the reg

Was it definitely on purpose because nothing lasts forever and it's hard to hold a candle?

Back when I turned 19 someone broke into my house and nicked a load of cash and 2 mobile phones. They got in through the back window. It's always bothered me as I had reptile tanks set up unless people knew me and had been in the house then they should have thought lights were on. It was also on the day that I happened to visit a friend. Most weeks. Police couldn't find no finger prints and lastly they nicked a few beers from the fridge. Bastards. I moved from there not long after. The next place I moved to my motorbike was nicked. I have loads of good luck.

Last year my nanna walked in her house and 3 men were in there going through all her positions. Thankfully she thought to call out my cousin's name and walk back outside. She doesn't have anything of any value so nothing was taken which unfortunately means the police aren't too fussed.

I would give up everything to know the people that did this.

We went to see my 94 year old nan this weekend. She lives on her own, and is almost deaf with her hearing aids in, and totally deaf without them. She WILL NOT lock the front door to her house. We told her we'd be at her place at 9.30am to pick her up. I walked up the front of her house, saw her in her front room and rang the door bell. Nothing. Rang again, nothing. Thumped on the door. Nothing. Knocked on the window. Nothing. I thought I'd try the door, sure enough it's unlocked. I walked in, shouted for her, nothing. Walked in to her FRONT ROOM, shouted for her. Nothing. She then walked out of her kitchen, looked suprised to.see me and went, "hang on I'll just put my hearing aids in".

:fp: :fp: :fp:

Her front door is right on the street, right by a bus stop. It terrifies me that she lives like that. I've told her over and over that she needs to keep her door locked.

@Ad7 - buy her a shotgun for Christmas.

My daughter's got her first Christmas play at school tomorrow and I was surprised to learn that it's the full on Christian nativity story, complete with all the religious songs and symbolism. Obviously it's all gone completely over her 4-year-old head but I didn't think secular state schools did that anymore.

Went to two of my kids Christmas plays yesterday, one was very much about Santa - trying to get a present to the last kid who they had forgotten, the other was surprisingly tightly coupled to the nativity story - no traditional hymns though.

I think it varies a lot place by place and year by year but you're always going to get a certain amount of "traditional" content even in state schools.

Our final Christmas Play in Primary School was a Victorian stage show with us all doing different sketches.

My best mate and I did a comedy act called The Giggle Brothers, a loose interpretation of great The Chuckle Brothers :slol:

strawberry floating hilarious it was too :datass:

I don't remember ours, I know Ella had her last Christmas one in year 4, she was a queen if I remember correctly. Nothing beats the terrible play when she was in year 5 though, that was so bad, you could consider it The Room of school plays

I'm going to watch her sing christmas carols tomorrow with her school choir, it was brilliant last year so I'm really looking forward to it.
