LewisD!

This was an awful OP for TCRT and you failed to pass on the 250 page gauntlet.

How to tell that OP's from the right side of the border - use of Hogmanay. :datass:

Hang about... Couple of things:

I brought up the 250 page rule on page 252... And was told not to bother anymore:

t:tcrt-7?p=4442044#p4442044

Also, the "Previous chat room thread link" link you've included actually links to TCRT6, not TCRT7.

strawberry floating waster...

I find 'reality' TV incredibly boring and in this case worryingly voyeuristic.

I definitely understand this, and I generally hate the idea of these sorts of programmes, but having started watching this one it's fascinating how they function. I mean, you're not wrong in that all the contestants are, more or less, preening 1 percenters dripping in money and privilege. What's interesting to me, as someone who hasn't watched reality TV since Big Brother season 5 back in 2004, is how the art of storytelling has been honed so well in this format.

Can you imagine the volume of raw footage the edit team has to sit through for each episode? How these folks have to trawl through countless hours of these gorgeous morons, picking out side stories and main narratives, crafting character arcs, planning twists and turns and turning probably the least interesting thing imaginable into something captivating? Because that's what they do and they do it incredibly well. They've toned down the usual quirks inherent in US reality shows, those being the dramatically overdone hesitations and the dramatic, 'epic' soundtrack, and the result is something I actually can't stop thinking about. It's almost scary.

Also it's got a banging soundtrack.

Only good reality TV is Project Runway and Coach Trip at a stretch (but every season ends up being basically the same)

One of my old school friends went on coach trip and got booted off after only a couple of episodes. He wasn't impressed.

My wife watches Love Island so I tend to experience it second hand. Whilst it's clearly complete gooseberry fool and features largely detestable human beings, it can be quite entertaining.

It's not all shallow nonsense either, sometimes they really go deep into some of the issues affecting us all at this time:

Love that clip.

This year's lot aren't as thick as that lot by a long shot. Two of them have biomedical degrees! Of course, this doesn't make them interesting and I'm loving just how asinine the general quality of conversation is. The amount of times "It is what it is" has been repeated after something gooseberry fool (usually a girl rejecting a guy) happens is amazing. Also, various repetitions of "I've got to be loyal to my heart/I've got to trust my gut feeling."

I am genuinely stunned that Taf likes Love Island.

I have never seen any of it other than that Brexit clip. I can't imagine it would be something I would enjoy.

I whacked it on to try out the Sky app on the PS4 (works in France in your strawberry floating face iPlayer) and haven't been able to stop.

I mean, it's hugely sexist and more than a little bit racist but the drama man, the drama!

All the girls at work talk about Love Island incessantly. :dread:
All I've gleaned from their reading/showing of gossip articles on the Daily Mail website is that Amber is hot. :datass:

Oh, and women also hate the host Caroline Flack, because she's a slaaaaaaaaag. Or a basic (straight to Urban Dictionary) who flounces on like she's it. But girlfriend, that dirty ass bitch ain't gooseberry fool.

This programme seems to dominate discussion on London buses. Unfortunately. Apparently it's also really popular on Hulu. This is our latest contribution to the world. :|

E! and ITVbe. :dread:

Start your day off with a bit of Jezza Kyle (R.I,P), then onto Only Way Is Essex, followed up with Real Wives of Atlanta, Total Divas, Total Bellas, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Revenge Body With Khloe Kardashian, Very Cavallari, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Cheshire, The Real Housewives of Melbourne, Life on Marbs?...argh look at all this shite.

No wonder Eastenders is dying on its arse, these are the modern day soap operas people are watching.
