What's the Deal with this Fisher chap?
Why is he fascinated with Shy Guy?

He doesn't seem to respond to anyone else and his posts are all variations on "what did you play on Switch", "Will you download demos today?" and "did you buy anything on eShop". Some people find him annoying, but he's not hurting anyone.

Fisher was a bit more talkative with other people on SONM, but I think on here maybe he feels the most comfortable with Shy Guy. It must be a bit overwhelming to come to a much bigger (comparatively) forum. He's replied to my posts or to the general conversation in the thread a couple of times too.

He did make a thread a while ago: he likes to make illustrated stories with his Miis. It's pretty cute, but there hasn't been an update in a while, maybe because he plays on the Switch and not the Wii U now. https://grcade.co.uk/t:nintendo-3dswiiuswitchphoto-and-video-gallery--share-snaps-thread?f=2

I think it's nice that he's using GRcade how he wants to. I think this community's strength is it welcomes all sorts of different people. I understand his posts are a little odd, but my view is live and let live.

Old people are underated. Been chatting to one of my residents who is 100 years old, and says she's pretty much ready to die now except she's never been skiing. We joked about how there's not an attachment for a Zimmer frame on skis, but compromised on a trip to the indoor ski centre that's got real snow. I'll phone a d see if they'll let me take her to the edge of the slope so she can hold a snowball one last time and watch them throw themselves down the hill from the cafe with a hot chocolate. I say it'll be her last but she'll probably outlive everyone.

Also sending another lass to university for a days lecture they hold as part of summer school. strawberry float the budget.

They way we as a country treat the elderly is disgraceful. Just shove them in a corner and ignore them like they have nothing to offer. I bet they feel no different inside to us.

It's sad. I've always thought the government should make it more financially viable for families to look after their elderly members. It just isn't at the moment, and that is sometimes why they end up in homes. Or give them the legal choice to end their lives.

Still, what Bunny is doing warms my cold, dead heart.

Care homes and the like should be government run, not run for profit by private individuals/companies. One of my current biggest bugbears about this country.

Absolutely!

Any care giving, education, essential service thing should either publicly owned, or highly regulated not for profit charity.

My mum works in a residential home and she hates it. Not because of the elderly. It's because they just can't give the residents the care they need. None of the carers are trained up properly, (most of their training is online) and they get residents with health issues that they just can't give proper care for that they'd get in a proper care home.

The GF is Turkish (Worst my GF is Turkish post!) and IMO they treat their elderley so much better than we do over here it's really depressing.

Her Gran and Granpa died within the last 2 years, but both were being looked after by the family unit with one living in the house and the other in their own home with a carer (I think Carers are a lot cheaper in Turkey making this feasible)

I think Muslims on the whole seem to treat their elderley better than the rest of the world. I base this on just 2 examples (1 x Turkish and 1 x Pakistani) which obviously makes me an expert in the field and able to make such a sweeping statement.

Absolutely agree. Having worked in private and now in council funded I can see the difference, but the budget cuts are still visable.

It's probably just a loft goblin or some sort of troll, pretty harmless most of the time if you leave them alone and keep lids on things.
