Awkward! :slol:

How the hell did you manage to do that?

It was an invite from a nursery that my son had only just started going to, so I was kind of expecting not to really know anyone. Plus it was at a soft play place so I just assumed that it was open to non party people as well which would doubly explain all the unfamiliar faces!

On entering I just say "I'm here for the party" and of course they just wave you in and my son trundles off and has a play. He seems to recognise some friends, or at least starts playing with some other kids, so I assumed all was well and just found somewhere to sit and read crap on my phone.

After they've played and eaten and are about to start singing happy birthday I spot some balloons with a name on and think... "hmm, that's not the name of the kid whose party I thought we were at!"

Fortunately there's loads of people here so I've just been laying low and hoping nobody questions me before completing a stealth extraction of my son!

I'm still confused. Where was the real party you should have been at then?

That weirdly makes think of The Mission?

How often do you guys clean/hoover your flats/homes? Made myself paranoid by Googling and reading a Mumsnet thread where people are saying they clean every day...

Once or twice a week is fine. Every day is excessive unless you have to get of allergens or something.

I hoover once a week unless I notice something then I'll hoover it up as it happens.

I had to call in sick to work today - I went to bed at 11:30 and I didn't fall asleep until 7:30 this morning. I can't explain why or what the strawberry float happened but it was like my body was tense and I couldn't relax it at all in order to sleep. I really should've just got back up for a while, but I was meant to wake up at 6:45 this morning so maybe it was the anxiety of that.

Fell asleep at 8 when I called in and just woke up.

Every couple of days... but I have a toddler and a dog that sheds. If I didn't then probably once a week.

Cleaner does it every 2 weeks
I do it if there's an issue/noticeable mess (or a quick tidy if visitor coming)

But I live alone

It was at the same place... just several hours earlier! :slol:

And on the cleaning subject - we tend to hoover and give things like the bathroom a decent clean once a week, other stuff varies. For example the kitchen worktops and table are cleaned every day, but something like say cleaning windows would get does far less often - every couple of months maybe?

Ah. I expect the start time was poorly written/communicated on the invite then

Thanks for the replies guys. I guess it is circumstantial for most. Makes sense that those with kids and pets need to clean more often. I'd been hoovering once every 2-3 weeks, but we only have a carpet in the bedroom. Might have to consider doing it more often.

Since getting a cordless vacuum cleaner I think we hoover probably 3 times a week, but that's more down to the convenience of the device than the house being particularly dirty. Downstairs is completely wooden flooring so dust/hairs/bits of stuff tend to be more noticeable than on carpets, so they get whizzed on the regular.

"Bud-a-buuuu

Just makes me think of the Terminator theme tune. :datass:

I think the "bum" sound works for the intro and early build, but the main swell of the piece is definitely better served by a "bud a buuu, buu buu buu" sound. ;)

And great, now I'm just thinking about bums!
