I'm thinking of a weekend down there mid September.

They are but I could see a local lockdown happening around that time. Lots of places and people seem to be pretty much ignoring guidelines at the moment.

Not wishing to be a fearmonger or anything but I would be very cautious about travelling anywhere at the moment, irrespective of what the press and government would like people to believe.

I’ve been writing up short articles to turn into a history blog of sorts which will advertise my writing and keep track of ideas for larger projects further down the line.

Since yesterday I’ve written almost 2,000 words on the most bizarre subject - George and Barbara Bush vs. the Simpsons - that I feel like I might actually try and draft a full length academic article out of it.

I bet you're avoiding something really important, that's where real productivity comes from.

It’s just the way of things. When I have to write for the book, I do articles and marking, and when I have to do marking or articles I write for the book.

I thought I had, but my ADD brain often strawberry floats up basic tasks. Turns out auto-save wasn't on either, so the whole thing is down the tubes. Ah well, tonight's work is sorted.

From someone who works in IT. Never ever trust autosave. It's garbage. Sorry to hear you lost your work dude. :(

When it comes to the final save before I close a document, I always hammer that save button to make absolutely sure it has saved. I, too, have fallen victim to autosave not doing its job (though thankfully not for an entire document).

A cheese and pickle sandwich is surely one of the greatest sandwiches on earth.
