Feels like gooseberry fool but there's nothing I could've done im just not really accepting that she's gone. I think I thought from yesterday that it might be coming close to the end, but all I can be happy with is I did my very best to give her the best life and she was my best friend in the entire world. She's been here for me through everything since I was 11 years old which is just insane. If it wasn't for her I don't really know if I'd have made it this far in the same way I have. I already miss the fact she's not here but it hasn't set in that she's fully gone

I've just been at A&E due to the bite getting a tetnus booster and some antibiotics, has anyone got any tips for taking tablets? No matter what I try and do I can never swallow them. I just tried crushing it at recommendation of the doctor but all that happened was the bits of tablets got stuck at the bottom of the glass

Try chewing a biscuit then put the tablet in your mouth before you swallow the biscuit.

Sorry to hear about your cat, SD. It's always horrible to lose a pet, but 19 years is a really good innings and you'll have lots of cherished memories to carry with you moving forward, so hold onto those and remember the good times x

My cats just brought in a strawberry floating mouse and let it go. Now it’s running around behind the counter in the utility room with no way of getting to it.

Thinking I’ll just put the cats food and water bowl at there and a blanket, close the door and hope she deals with it over night.

I used to be terrible at taking tablets, but what I do now is fill my mouth with water, pop the tablet in, swallow and then chase it down with more water. It normally works 95% of the time for me.

Hope you figured the tablet out - dunno if this will help but I find "miming" chewing it for a few seconds (not actually, but just doing the motion) makes it easier to swallow.

I crushed the tablet but not enough so all that happened is I put it in the water and ended up having it stuck to the bottom of the mug so had trouble taking it still.

I'm going to crush it up better tomorrow and maybe try to tip it into my mouth where I have water already. Thanks for all the suggestions.

The trick my mum used to do when I was a little kid was to put the tablet on a table spoon, then crush it with the back of another spoon.
Pour milk onto the crushed tablet on the spoon and swallow the powdery milk mix.

I might try the milk - I crushed it with a spoon but I think I need to do half and half because these tablets are massive and its really hard to crush them. I poured the crushed tablet into some water and gulped it down immediately, but a bigger bit got stuck on my tongue and it activated my gag reflex.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, I've ordered some Jam and Ice Cream for tomorrow so I can try that too.
